2025 Panigale New Owner Impression

The problem is always the same. Too few prototypes were built and tested prior to release so the missed the issue. Now it's going to cost them some multiple of what it would have cost to build more prototypes. Everybody on a motorcycle design team should get a prototype to live with before release IMHO. One of my favorite recalls was the SSSA spindle on the 916. The error was so obvious (no radius where the spindle changed diameters, classic stress concentration) one wonders if anybody ever really reviewed the design.

They are believed to bring bad luck because they are so beautiful :), although it is sad that a new motorcycle you bought has problems, it is not the end of the world. Such problems can happen in the first production models of every brand and are solved (Ducati masters, of course you know better). Coming back to this beauty, I fell in love with it again in the video you shot. Everything is built from the ground up and looks like a whole.

Got a 21' panigale v4s here with nearly 10 000km. I haven't driven so much this year, but weather conditions generally dont exceed 25C in this part of the world.
I never had any overheating issue. The fan is ofc running high when it's warm and i drive in traffic or city but that's it.
I have the akra race exhaust installed and race up map installed, not because 12 additional hp were woth the extra 5k but because I wanted to get rid of the double catalyst ..... in the stock exhaust which creates this overheating issue. Plus to keep compliant with euro crap the air fuel ration is very lean which makes the bike heat even more.
Did you all have the stock exhaust when this happened?
I also had the rear breakline on my 2013 vrod melting after 2 years, and the engine even stopped running sometimes in the city when it was 35+C. Same thing I had the header pipes changed to get rid of the catashit and new mapping of the engine.
I got a 22' gsa as well, and even in winter the fans can be running loud just by leaving it idle for a minute. This one does not have any catalyst delete, and I was told by bmw that's a nightmare to do due to electronics.
It's only going to be worse and worse with the restrictive euro rules ..... an the race to more power.
Also never buy a new bike during its 1st year of production!

I buy 2024 V4S in may and have many electric cremlins, limp mode. So first year or last year production is not a case every time.

Did you bring it to the dealership? Have they managed to fix it?
For my bike thay finally find some oxide in ecu pins.
It was wierd problem to find, many times just random limp mode. One of the latest 24 model they done, expect trouble free.

That's frustrating given the price of these bikes, you expect a flawless quality control on the suppliers parts and prior to deliver it to the customer. Even more frustrating when you see the price hike of a v4s in 4 years: nearly +7000euros

Yes exactly, first when bike comes one front disc was wobbeling and dislay dash was hull off lines and almost unvisible. Service change these by time, but still cant use bike 3 weeks because of that.
I hope 25 model is better.

I hope it's the end of your pain, otherwise I would sell it, it's a cursed production model assembled by a summer intern

Well if no one's gona say it, I will say it, you'll should have bought a 2005 gixxer 1000, according to Zack and Ari.

🤣

I had both of those bikes at the exact same time and did the exact same sorta test in back to back to back sessions at Big Willow.

The K5 Gixxer was VERY good, surprisingly good. Better throttle to tire connection coming off corners, more stable mid-corner, but turns like a bark lounger compared to the Ducati’s agility. Ducati had screamed at 90 to 150 mph, but that Gixxer pulled harder up to 90 or 100 mph.

Ducati starting to make me think they are more like McLaren than Ferrari.

The only reason I never bought a McLaren 765 is because every single guy I know who owns a McLaren has a love-hate relationship with them. When the car is working, it’s the best car in the world. But every single one of them says the car spends more time in the shop than they do driving it.

BTW I read somewhere that Ducati is now mapping per gear. So the electronic adjustability you're predicting on the new R's seems possible.

RoadracerX road the new Ducati for about an 85 mile test road, really put it through its paces, edge of tire all that. Says it a phenomenal bike, incredible throttle to rear wheel connection, very balanced handling, easy to ride fast like a Fireblade now, best ergos Ducati has come out with…the only negative was that it was still hot on the legs in a longer ride.

I’ll wait for the R though.

Quick update on my ‘25 V4S. I got a call from the dealer technician on Friday, letting me know the parts are on the way and should arrive by 12/31/2024. He also apologized and mentioned that Ducati asked him to confirm if I had dyno-tuned the bike, as they couldn’t figure out how else the rear brake line and speed sensor wire could have melted. Naturally, I told him no—that wasn’t the case. I pointed out that they can simply check the computer logs to see my engine RPMs, which were all within the break-in period parameters.

Has anyone else with a 2025 V4S have had any issues?

Also, I talked to New Rage Cycles, they should have a tail tidy with integrated LED lights in January

Interestingly, my first-year 2012 Ducati 1199S has been mostly flawless--the only problem happened in 2019, bad MAP sensor--easy and cheap fix. Guess I got lucky!
