Just wrong did you sort the wheel to exhaust space out?

Thanks Andy. 👊
And how come you are not getting to the edge of the tyre?

The short answer is that I’m old and slow lol

The more nuanced answer is that I’m carrying pretty decent corner roll speed, but I’m 245 pounds in gear, and 6’3” tall, and I get pretty far off the bike. So I probably have an extra 50 to 60 pounds counter weighting the bike off the side of the bike at lean, so at the same corner roll speeds as a 50 pound lighter rider I don’t need to lean the bike as much. With my size and weight I’d have to be taking corners 10 to 15 mph faster than I am now to use all the tire, and I’m not that fast yet.

I also think there might be something with the geometry of my bike, once I reach a certain lean angle, it’s like the bike doesn’t want to lean more, I assumed it was me and my lean angle barrier, but I’ve actually tried pushing through it and I never get past a certain lean angle.

I think possibly the longer Pierobon swingarm combined with having my offset on the triple trees at 26mm instead of the stock 30mm might combine to make it want to lean less deeply. Maybe too long of a wheel base? So last night I changed the eccentrics in the IMA triples back to stock 30mm offset, and will give that a try.

The bike is so light that it flicks from side to side very easily, it turns in well, it finishes the corner well, but either I or the bike have a lean angle barrier, it’s like it leans in super easily to a certain lean angle, then it’s a hard stop on leaning further.

Not sure what you mean about the exhaust and the wheel?

Here’s a pic from a different angle. There was never any interference between the exhaust and wheel.

To be fair, I’ve found the V4 harder to get fully leaned over than my previous bikes. I’m in the same boat leaving a few mm’s of chicken strips left. And this is riding at the top of the intermediate times. I’d rather have some wiggle room and a chicken strip than no chicken strip and the bike being ass over tea kettle. Continuing to work on body positioning (improving mobility), ergonomics (feel too stretched out), lines (need to decrease time in corner), and finding the right tire pressures

Look into a set of those Woodcraft riser clipons, very well made piece of kit, and gives you control over bar angle, bar rise, and moves the bars to the sides of the shock tubes instead of in front so they are a bit closer and higher. Made me feel less stretched out, also took a lot of pressure off my neck, which was getting pretty nackered by the end of a track day.

Canyons lol!

I used to think that until I tried them.

There are plenty of quick riders that will be faster with road tyres than me with slicks, but I like the extra feel and accuracy. They last longer than a road tyre too.

Ah, I think we’re there Nov 2, 3, and 4.

Riding rented s1000rr’s.

I’ve never been before. You?

Racing School Europe I assume?

It it is then they do great events and if you are lucky then Troy Corser will be there. I’ve done two events with them - super-helpful people and very well organised.

Be prepared, Portuguese food is ....
You’ve surpassed yourself with that generalisation.

They do some fabulous food and some of their local meats are amazing, but you usually have to head out of the city to find the best places. It’s hardly unusual that the places for tourists or a captive audience are not exactly the top places to eat.

I remember being taken to a local‘s place in Lisbon by a couple of girls when I was young - it looked terrible from the outside but the locals queued outside for about an hour to get in, chatting and having a laugh while they waited. Unbelievable food. Another place in the middle of nowhere had no menu - just a huge pot of something and it was amazing. There’s good food everywhere (except Ukraine - that was awful, and they hadn’t even heard of Chicken Kiev).

Anything is better than Czech food (except for Vánočka and Kolaches). And I’m a quarter Czech

Then you’ve not been to Ukraine.

There are some nice Czech foods. I guess the Soviets didn’t spread much culinary expertise around though.

Still, if you want to feel at home then they do have KFC and McDonalds (I’m not sure what else the US has contributed to the world’s cuisine). 👍

Been there three times, great events! BUT you have to ride the very goon and nice BMWs, and they are not the same as our V4s!! If you have the chance please go with Troy, man he is something special!

Hey, I was in Brno this summer, great food and all was well arranged!, not to mention the beer;)
