I would have to defer to others expertise, but I think the UPmap is a Ducati map or at least they are made in a partnership with Ducati.

They tend to be more conservative. That’s what I’m keeping on my V4 until my warranty is out at least…

On my 1199 and 1299 I went the aggressive route and they are beastly. But I’m a little gun shy as I’ve had two blown motors (too long oil change intervals is my theory)…

I think you might be right because the dealer had it and they are the ones who installed it for me. I’ll be emailing them with my feedback.

I figured out the problem, the dealer put the map on for without the baffle. I have baffles in.

There's just not that much of a difference. Sure, maybe at the top, but that's not where your problem is. I used a map for a Termi slip-on with a full Akra for a few months and didn't notice anything odd. Eventually I got a tune from @DeussenEngines because I wanted to see what I was missing, and after speaking to Daniel, I trusted his expertise. Bike pulls like crazy, no complaints.

I'd ask if the O2 sensors are still installed. IIRC, the Termi map allows you to remove them. If they're left in place, the bike fights between the map and the sensors for the correct part (just off idle) fueling. If they're removed, no such complication occurs. This was the case with EU4, which had two sensors. EU5 now has 4. Please seek more validation if removing (or test by merely unplugging them) is the way to go. My bike is EU4, as it's US spec. Elsewhere, 2021 was EU5.

By all means try the baffles first as that would be pretty easy.
 
Thanks! I will. I went with UP Map since I talked to a racer friend of mine about it, and he recommended them since their maps are less aggressive and tend not to hurt engines, unlike BT Tune. I am hopeful I'll get a map that smooths out low RPM jerkiness in 1st and 2nd. If up map can’t do it, I’ll contact Dan.

My salesman called me and says "You spent enough money here so far, we can bring the bike back to you, pick up the 959, take it back for the work you need and then bring that back to your garage." How's that for service with a smile? (I don't think he remembers I'm an hour and a half away. Lol!)
 
It’s all in ones approach…
You have to ride these a bunch or pull a pile of part throttle dyno runs to perfect the part throttle mapping. Just really time consuming. These are not trivial to map. If you're running O2 sensors hard to clean up the transition to the map. And you have to do this with every exhaust system your mapping will support. I think a lot of guys just map WFO and try to translate the part throttle from that data. Doesn't work.

Actually, you can fix the transition between the O2 map step off (on the euro 4's it's 6500 rpm or 40%) to the point it's undetectable on the Euro 4's. Takes a lot of effort fussing with the mapping but can be done. I prefer to run the O2 sensors because they'll correct (in their range) for any wonky sensor stuff. Ducati generates a sensor curve/slope that's in the software for the various sensors. Your bikes sensors characteristics do not necessarily act the same as their nominal ones. I've tried running full maps (including my V4) but because of the range of altitudes (12,000+ on the road in the Rockies in some spots) and temperatures mine are exposed to the O2 sensors are a better solution.
 
I’d rather ride then fuss with maps. You’re tuning to an altitude problem I don’t have, nor do I have any part throttle problems which need to be corrected. To spend time attempting to fix something which isn’t broken doesn’t sound like a good use of one’s time.

You have no idea whether you have any problems if you're constantly riding at 5000 feet and above 60 degrees. I get that Daniel is good enough to make this a non issue in any map. Me for one, appreciates the effort to make it all seamless. My point was relative to the use of O2 sensors on any of these. Taking some tuning to smooth the transition. And I am addressing an issue that is inherent to the clowncar that existed as delivered from Ducati above about 9000 feet. I'm riding from sea level to 13,000 ft., 30 to 100 degrees and trying to maintain fuel economy. Extra fuel hides a lot of ill's ultimately and these motors are so damped by the ETV maps you have no sense of when the motors crisply tuned or not in the part throttle midrange. Delivery feels soft here just type in a few more degrees of throttle opening. Unless one unmaps all the Ducati torque management BS you have no idea what's the motors actually act like. Pretty ripping. And I get Ducati's desire to make the power accessible to all but ultimately makes the delivery soul less. Sorta ruins the bike IMHO.
