I got the Avery Nano Fusion on my Tri and have to saw it's awesome! No orange peel, super clear. I had it professionally installed. I just didn't want to risk messing it up.
I highly recommmend it. Only thing I can't speak to is long term how it holds up but I've read good things about it.

rm4two , very nice work on the install. Props to you for having the patience and skill to DIY!

All reviews I have read so far say it's longevity is better than 3M, so I am quite confident.

Where did you buy yours? I thinking to buy it myself and have it professionally installed too.

Phil:

It looks like you did a great job!

I bought one of these kits and I've got two problems:

1. As another guy here reported, the packaging seems to have kinked the material in a couple of places.

2. It looks to be a very time consuming job. Finding three hours to go for a decent ride is hard enough and after watching the tank slapper vid I'm afraid that putting the whole kit on would take me an entire day.

How long did it take you?

It took me in excess of 10 hours. I would recommend doing it in sections over a couple days so to avoid loosing your concentration on quality.

I did the whole bike, execpt the three tank pieces, in 2-3 hours. But i've applied these kits before. A few tips to make it easier.

1. Clean the bike throughly.
2. Use menthilated spirit and a lint free polishing cloth to remove any wax from the areas that will be covered in film.
3. Use a few drops of Johnsons baby bath in a water spray bottle as the wetting solution. Don't use washing up liquid or other detergent.
4. Start with the easy bits. The two knee sections, the top of the tail, the two pieces near the foot pegs and the top of the front faring are flat and give you some practice before you start the curved sections. Leave the sides of the tail section, the sides of the tank and the front edges of the faring until last.
5. Wet your fingers with the solution before doing anthing or you'll get finger prints in the glue on the back of the film. Keep your fingers wet at all times.
6. Wet the area of the bike where you're going to apply the film. Put plenty on, the film should slide about freely when applied.
7. Wet the sticky side of the film as you peel it off the backing and then put it straight on the area to which its going to be applied, before it attracts any dirt. It won't stick to itself if you wet it as you're peeling it off. Take care not to get the backing wet before you peel the film off though or it won't peel off and you'll have a big mess.
8. Apply the film and get it in exactly the right place.
9. Wet the top suface of the film.
10. Use the small rubber squeegee block (should be included in the kit) to start working the water out from under the film. For flat sections work from the middle of the film section towards the edges. Apply more solution to the top of the film if the squeegee is not sliding freely. If it gets too dry you'll damage the film and it will have an orange peel finish.
11. For tougher shaped sections, you need to get part of the film anchored down by expelling the water with the squeege and then use wet fingers to pull the film into shape before removing more of the water from underneath, working away from the section you anchored.
12. Some bits look like they'll never conform to the curves, but they will if you keep them wet and pull the film into shape before expelling the water. You might need to re-wet the surface and squeegee again if they lift after a few minutes. Lift the film and put some more solution underneath if its not going well.

Hope this helps.

I have the 3M kit waiting at home, and the bike waiting at the dealership. I can hardly wait to put this advice to work, thanks!

Thanks PizzaDude, that was the place I spotted, so now I know you ordered from them and are happy, I guess I will order from them soon too. Trust you on this one! :)

Hey Guys,

I bought this one: Ducati Superbike 1199 Panigale InvisiGARD Paint Protection Kit and had it put on (Professionally) and could not be happier with the fit and finish. It sounds like it's more expensive then the one being talked about on here though since it's $245.00. This kit does not come with a piece for the windscreen though, which was fine since i want to get a tinted one. Has anyone seen a stock size tinted wind screen out there?

I think Puig has made one, but you won't find one from Ducati Performance, which only sells the higher wind screen, tinted or clear.

Jeliz, was your InvisiGARD using a 3M film or another brand?

Did your Avery Kit come pre cut or did you just have them cut it in?

It did not say it was 3M on the pre-cut pieces, maybe it is their own brand they have made for them? When i took it to the installer they had heard of the company, said they did quality products and have bought from them in the past.

That was the answer I was hoping for.
If it was 3M, it would have been branded on the pre-cut pieces, so it is not.
I have a professional installer agreeing to do the job for me, but for an undisclosed reason, they don't want to work with 3M stuff. So I now know I can order the InvisiGUARD and have it installed by them.
Besides they grief with 3M, they are real professional for these things.

Thank you very much for your kind answer. :)

Yeah, watch your tempratures too. I did mine in 7 celcius (dont know what that is in that silly Farenheit system) and had trouble. (too cold). After the first few pieces, I ended up soaking each peice (total 3m kit) in hot (not boiling) water b4 putting it on and it was much easier to apply. I stuffed up and begain with the tail sides. Anyway, not perfect but will protect the soft paint. I did not get the squeege with my kit and went down to clark rubbber for a piece of rubber.

PS. I was surprised to see my package was insured for $18.95 (post insurance). Is he really makeing $85 on each kit? (Paid $105). My nose, (not on yet) was also crimpled along with a few other bits. Maybe I am in the wrong occupation. 500% profit margin and crappy packaging resulting in damaged pieces and no squeege.

If there was an expert in town that does this sort of thing for a living, I would be there.

Thanks to all on this thread. I didn't know this stuff existed. I have bought the Tankslapper full bike kit and have installed over the weekend.

Amazing how invisible this stuff is. Only one or two tiny bubbles exist (due to my amateur hands) that you wouldn't see unless you were looking real close!

Thanks again.

Phil, I got the 3M kit $105 but didn't have any pieces for the front fender - top piece &/or sides? Did you get these pieces? I think I should have but didn't? I need to give them a call but just interested if you guys got them as part of the $105 kit?? Cheers,

I just got mine done and everything is 3M except for the front fender, since I have the CF front they had to us another brand clear bra that was matte so that it wasnt glossy like the others. I will find out what the name is.

On rainy days I still spend qt with my baby, Finally taking time to give her a facelift...installing Ventureshield full kit.

Washed and got her inside and started since lastnight, garage aint heated or lit that great lol.

All day affair it seems, going good tho :)

Sweet, my Tri is still spankin' new.. I should jump on getting some protection sooner.. thanks all for your DIY instructions, very helpful.. I appreciate it

Guys, I posted about 3M about 2wks ago about my experience and just seen this thread pop up.

I know some have their own thoughts about the product but personally I think for $300 AUD odd dollars to protect our bike, I reckon it's peanuts. I did the DIY myself and I think unless we are pro, we get bubbles (I certainly did).

In AUS, we also get the Full Body version but you have to contact he owner as he digitally designed and cut the upgraded pack to what already is on the market. The full kit took me almost all day and I'm new to this stuff so if you have done his b4 then I reckon it'll b quicker dor you!

I just picked up the Avery Nano Fusion kit from clear defender, hopefully it will be here next week and I can get it on before I put too many more miles on it.
