Some lessons learned during the installation of the 1199 Panigale Armour Bodies Race Bodywork:

1) Order an extra bag of AZUS fasteners from Woodcraft. In total, you need two bags of the "rivet" style AZUS fasteners and one bag of the "spring clip" style fasteners. Believe me....you will break a rivet or five during the installation process...and you will not want to wait three days for another baggie to arrive. When you mess up....you can use a 2mm bit to drill it out

2) Installation instructions recommend a step bit for drilling...I found that drilling a pilot hole with a 2mm bit...and then following up with a step bit...worked best.

3) Don't bother measuring...drill dead center at pre-marked locations and the bodywork will fit perfectly. This will allow you to attach rivet fasteners off the bike...you will have much more room to get your hands behind the bodywork and hold everything in place while working the rivet tool.

4) Start by removing all stock bodywork...carefully wrap each fairing and put bolts in plastic sandwich baggies...catalog and take pictures...that way you don't loose anything and remember how to put it back together. Also remove front and rear headlight assembly. I took some zip ties to neatly fasten the remaining wiring harness to itself so it wont get in the way later...Since Ducati is freakin awesome, all the wires are already labeled.

5) Install the windscreen on the race bodywork...some "massaging" is required here...found it much easier to install before fitting fairing to bike than after...

6) Fit ram air ducts and front fairing with windscreen attached to the from of the bike and attach with four screws. I ended up going to Lowes and browsing for some nuts, bolts and washers that worked. Only four stock screws are used for installing the entire kit...

7) Fit race tail...removing the rear tail light assembly will cause a check engine light....still messing around with this, more to follow. I also installed a Hit-Air lanyard to the subframe during this process...Safety first:D...drilled another hole into the top of the race tail to enable the lanyard to protrude right behind me. In the case of a high-side...the lanyard will activate an airbag vest and reduce traumatic injury on impact...hopefully...

8) Instead of AZUS fasteners, I used 1/4" plastic bodywork fasteners from auto zone to fasten the small fairing that cleans up the underside of the race tail to the race tail...several types available...screw in type and pop-in types...tried them all...all work....I like the pop-in type the best...

Ducati Racing Electric Connector Kits

*Two kits are available...one for the front (96580011A) and one for the rear (96580021A).

*The rear kit contains only one male connector...it fits into the female connector underneath the race tail that was previously connected to the rear tail light.

*The front kit contains three connectors...the white rectangular one is for an ignition bypass...unless you plan on doing some extra wiring to enable a push button start race bike, this will do you no good. As a matter of fact...if you plug this bit it by itself, the bike will no longer turn on.

*The triangular plug is for the kickstand sensor...some tracks and/or providers call for the removal of your kickstand...installing this plug on the bottom (clutch side) of the bike will enable the bike to turn on with the kickstand removed (or down) while in gear....don't need this thing either...

*The little black plug is for the cooling fan..I want my cooling fan to work...don't need this thing either...

Umm....so yea I don't need the entire front package....and by the way...the check engine light still won't turn off!?!?! I am pretty sure the dealer will have to turn it off with his computer....more to follow.

Any one have pictures of these connectors? I have them but am waiting on some other parts to show up before I can put the bike back together and give everything a try.

Any help would be appreciated to avoid a CE light.

You can also unplug the rear tail light connector to bypass the CE light.

Unplug both the sealed weatherpak connector coming from the rear brake switch, and at least one of the butt connectors coming from the front brake switch. This takes care of your check engine light, and does not affect the ABS. I've done this on 3 bikes now.

This.

I ordered the kit stupidly (the one pictured in this thread) and it didn't even include the brake connector haha.

Just take the right side fairing off and you can trace the line, it is super visible. You actually only need to remove one, but I guess both won't hurt.
