All I read was New Streetfighter, 899R, V4 etc etc. I have a feeling I will be very broke in the next 3 years lol
Well like I said I won't spill the beans. That means, of course, that there are beans to spill!
Good things are coming in the future. They may not be exactly what you expect...they may be even better.
My advice is for those of you who like to play the long game, start prepping the wife now for an addition or two to the stable

I have a question, and this is totally serious: Why do so many of you say you want a "New" Streetfighter, 1299 Streetfighter, etc.? From our experience with the last "big" streetfighter, the 1098 Streetfighter, it really didn't sell very well. The Monster consistently outsold the Streetfighter by a factor of 10 probably. So I think Ducati is pretty gunshy about a real sport-focused naked bike after that experience, yet here all of you are saying you want one. Why do you want a naked version that won't have the capabilities of the full-on sport version? What's the appeal of a 200HP naked bike, other than doing wheelies, which you can do on a 450 supermoto a lot more fun than you can on a 200HP naked bike? Or is it the age-old quest for a "comfortable" sport bike that drives that want? I'm very curious.
If they made a 1299 SF that had the same features and similar motor output as the 1299 Pani, I would buy it that day. I want a sporty bike that I can tour with, but also doesn't sacrifice performance or technical goodies.
The Monster simply doesn't do it for me across the board. And I think it is a bit embarrassing they didn't equip it with a QS, let alone down-blipper, cornering ABS, etc.
Fair enough, but specifically why do you want a naked "touring" bike with that kind of performance? I still don't get it. You can get a 1299S that has it already, so basically the only difference you're talking about is a more comfortable seating position and it has nothing to do with it being a "naked" bike. By that definition, a new fully-faired sport-touring bike based upon the 1299S would be even more desirable than a naked version, since it would have better wind protection for "touring". Why doesn't anyone say they want that bike?
Ok, interesting, thanks! So the cool look of a naked bike is a big factor. This is some great market research, it goes to show why I'm not the product designer in Bologna! ;-)
Still doesn't change the fact that the 1098 Streetfighter, which looked very sinister and cool, never sold well. It seems to meet all of the criteria you guys are asking for, yet I guess none of you ever bought one? Why not?
