I would love to see a lightweight Sports classic with a HP air cooled motor . I loved the sports classic but the bike was heavy and underpowered and built to a budget .
That would be my perfect street bike .

I agree with Wilkson on this too. it would be great to see something like what he describes, a modern Bevel if you like. Now that would be nice.

Please make us a faired sport tourer similar to Zx14R for us older guys(Kinda lol) who want a sexy fast COMFORTABLE for extended rides bike that still screams "Ducati" with all its wonderful character.Monsters don't do it for me.Include a slightly wider fairing, wider seat,

Still doesn't change the fact that the 1098 Streetfighter, which looked very sinister and cool, never sold well. It seems to meet all of the criteria you guys are asking for, yet I guess none of you ever bought one? Why not?

Not quite. A 4.4 gal tank @ 34mi/g isn't good enough for a Sport-Tourer. And it was a plastic tank (if I remember correctly). And a fairly short service interval on belts/valves.

Just doesn't translate to a Sport Tourer (at least not for me). It's why I bought a Speed Triple R a few months back. Bigger gas tank, better mpg (mid 40s), a metal gas tank, longer service interval (12k with conventional shim-under-bucket setup) translates into a naked bike more useful for long distance Sport/Touring riding.

Still think Ducati is overlooking what could be done with the 1199/1299 motor as a building block for an updated ST4. A genuine Sport-Tourer version of a Panigale instead of pushing everyone in that market onto their "Adventure-Tourer" TubbyStrada......errrr Multistrada.

Jarel,
Being an older guy with more conservative tastes in what a touring bike should look like, I would like to see a ST 2/ST3/ST4 replacement. Updated engine, suspension etc. I to enjoy looking at the bike as well as riding it. So the Multi strada etc is just too way for me. A Ducati version of a BMW1300S is what I would love to see.

My two cents.

(Rossi to win in 2015)

I would enjoy that bike myself!

And yes, Rossi to win! :)

Scramblers with bigger engines is happening according to my dealership, they've been right with everything I know of so far. I was looking at getting a Scrambler, my dealer said lay off as I would want something with a bit more poke and wait for the bigger models if I wasn't desperate to get one.

So following the CARB 'leak' I guess you where right, all EURO 3 engines are getting replaced this year, meaning:
Scrambler
Panigale 899
Streetfigher 848
Panigale 1299

1299 is big shocker to me as it just 1 year old, not sure they're going to call it a new model, maybe just a small tweak of the same engine.

Ducati just gave more money off and 1.99% APR on Streetfighters. Just saying we may be getting a new one..

You're not helping here mike! :D

I have a raging boner.

You're welcome haha.. Dude even if they used the 959 Pani engine in it, it would be killer.. Maybe make it look like this..

Wow Mike. That concept looks amazing. Absolutely no passanger pegs. This would have to be a 1 person bike!

Yup 100% with double. No passenger pegs.

This should answer the question of why people want a SF so bad. Some like to follow the herd, and some (us few) like to be different!

If the above concept is released I'm putting down a deposit immediately. I love my SF848, but would swap is out immediately if it had the Pani goodies added.

if they did do one, it wouldn't look elegant like that, not by a longshot.

- radiators. they're big, they're not in the picture.
- crap bolted to the outside of the motor that's concealed on the Panigale but would need to be relocated on a streetfighter:
- ABS pump
- battery
- charcoal canister
- secondary air injection hoses
- the airbox section would have to be wider, as that's where the electronics are, bolted to the outside of it.

The problem with the concept photo of course is there are no electronics, abs pump, battery, etc.. Take the fairings off your Panigale and look at it, it does not look like this. All of the stuff that's under your fairing would have to be on the naked bike also, making the packaging nearly impossible to achieve this type of clean open engine look. I used to have a Monster that looked that clean, but it was a 900 carbureted race bike with no electronics on it, virtually impossible with a modern street-legal Ducati.

I like the way all of the Panigale SF concepts look, but in no way practical. I have yet to ever see a running version.

If they back way off of the compression ratio, and of course the output, you could get away with a decreasing radiator size, but there is so much tech that is being excluded. Maybe the vision is that its a 2 gallon tank and everything is tucked in there.
