A fluke?

I sent an email to NewRage just to confirm they are not trying to recycle the V4-FE kit with the V2-FE kit, I explained that the dealer ordered the V4-FE kit, I installed it and I get the generic error light after a few minutes of riding. Hopefully they confirm the kits TRULY are different and not recycled between models.

Cool keep us posted. I would assume that it’s cheeped for Ducati to reuse parts so the 2020 V2 is identical to a 2018 V4

let’s not rule out the possibility that it’s an issue with your specific NRC product and could have nothing to do with V4 vs V2. If they email back that they are interchangeable, let them know yours is defective... unless it’s supposed to throw a light. But that’s back to my comment abt “not 2016 anymore” meaning I expect this product to be flawless and if it’s not it can go back

So what did you or the dealership have to do about the rear light throwing an error, because I installed the newragecycles tail tidy and want to make sure I don't have issues?

I have the NRC on mine and the error code is literally only when i start it up and in idle. It fully goes away when riding. My guess would be something along the side of voltage irregularities.

Nothing bad, works flawlessly, all good in my book.

Resistance irregularities/ not enough resistance so the computer things a bulb is blown. I just do t see how NRC can ship a product that thorns lights on in 2020. My expectations are much higher than that

right train of though. Do u know the difference between resistance and impedance?

without looking it up

I had the "triangle with the exclamation point"⚠ light (the one on the left of the dash not the DTC) come on when I installed the NRC. Ended up being the license plate light, I switched back to the stock light and the⚠️ light didn't show at the next key-on. Driven license plate w/light will throw same general warning ⚠ Futurismoto and EvoTech did not give me any problems

Nah, I wouldn't know. My OCD was not triggered by it, so never bothered trying to fix it and just left it as-is since it goes away after riding off.

What did you do with NRC in the end?

Sup All,

Took delivery of my V2 on Thursday, I live in the Austin, Texas area! Amazing bike so far.....took it out today for it's inaugural fun ride and......I have an error on the dash. A yellow triangle with "!" inside of it. No mods were done to it, it's completely stock. After about 30 seconds of putting it in gear, the error pops up. In neutral, no code pops up at all. After about 10 miles I turned around and went back home, didn't want to take the chance of something happening and leaving me stranded.
The servo closes and opens up during startup, can't see anything physically wrong with it at all. Back to the shop on Wednesday, hopefully.

Thoughts?

Sorry I’m late to this, but I had the same issue. I ended up emailing NRC, and they said they were working on the right resistor for the V2 license plate light. A few weeks later they sent me a new light free of charge. It was a 5-min install.

The day I bought my bike I got home and changed out the tail tidy with the NRC. Rode it, saw the light and rode right it back to the dealer. When I saw the tech ride off on the bike I saw the brake go on and then the running and lit light went out when he let off the brake. I actually used the wiring diagram in the owners manual to track down what was wrong. Thats when I realized, somehow, it was the lic light. ....and so began the story of Ducatiloks and the Three Tail Tidy's! or was it four?

Put it back in the box...its fate is still yet to be determined! I wasn't super impressed with the NRC Lego cookie look on the Duc! I have the Futuris set and...my God!
Out of stock... waiting

if the nrc throws a light on my bike I’m taking it off and putting on the racing block off until futurismoto is available again

I was honestly thinking of leaving the hole open and the connector dangling and just be like " Ahh man what the F@#K!? I had no idea officer..." because with it gone and the wires hanging id look less suspect than victim...

Haha ok good that the light goes off once u leave

resistance is for DC and impedance is for AC. Impedance depends on frequency
I’ve been hanging out with an electrical engineer too much

Word. I never paid attention to that part of my education. I am a chemist by trade. Yet working in property management. You know - life makes sense... :/

I bought my tail tidy back in March and got the warning light on the dash too. I called NRC and they did end up figuring it out for the V2, so there is a specific tail tidy for the V2 now. I do like the look of the Futurismoto tail tidy but I have only seen them for the V4. My local dealership said it triggered the dash warning light on the V2 so I did not get it.

Did you by any chance ask if they are sending out the patch for us who already have one? Or is it "what it is" and only new model bought has the fix in it?

I returned the V4 tail tidy and was sent the V2 specific tail tidy. I don’t think they have a “patch” for the fix but you may want to contact NRC to find out.

contact them right now and get it resolved or
I’m boycotting and it starts with one. Futurismoto is better by a long shot anyway. This thing was just gonna be a placeholder. Anything would do to get that hideous regulated fender (offender) off of my beautiful supermodel

yeah u got the right idea

Now I’m curious as to why the V2 needs an extra resistor. If u have one that’s throwing the light and NRC says too bad, start adding resistors to the harness

Per Justin at NewRageCycles on their kit -
That’s correct. You need the V2 kit as it requires a resistor in the plate light. The V4 kit will present that error code on the V2.

Make sure you are not ordering a V4 kit for your V2, order the V2 kit specifically. My problem was the dealer I ordered it from ordered the V4 kit for mine, so I will take that off and wait for the V2 kit I just ordered. I happen to think the kit fits really nice looks great, I wasn't going to wait 3-4 months for the futurismoto one.
