Just picked up a new 22’ v4s and I have around 500 miles on it. Noticed the right rotor seems to be wearing differently than the left. Just checking to see if this is a concern to have addressed during 1st service or if this is normal

are you doing more right hand corners than left?..............

;-)

I haven’t been keeping track but I’d say they’re about 50/50 aha. Any insight on this ? It's the outer circumference that is showing that heavier wear compared to the rest of the rotor that just made me question it. Wasn't sure if that's a typical pattern / normal

maybe its dirt, maybe a stone got into the calliper, if its still under warranty get it checked by a dealer...looks like it needs a bit of a clean have the callipers off and make sure they and the pads are all clean and undamaged, and that the pistons retract fairly easily.

Tried cleaning the rotor but after going for a ride it still persists. I have my first service next Saturday, but I’m trying to figure out what the root of this could be

Try loosening the bottom pinch bolts and the 4 main bolts holding the calipers and bouncing the front end a few times to center them.
Then tighten them a little at a time, not cranking one bolt down tight and it should balance the braking system

Would you happen to know the torque specs ?

I do not, the pinch bolts on the bottom do not need to be wrenched down hard, the calipers can be tightened quite a bit, usually from the factory they have marked them off with yellow ink to where they have tightened them to.

Ok. In all honesty I may just wait until the bike has its first service this weekend and make sure I just bring up these points. I’m assuming it’s slightly misaligned and my guess would be this happened when they took off the reflector and put the caliper spacer in

With Ohlins, its actually printed on the bottom of the fork. It isn't very tight maybe 6 Nm? With the caliper bolts, you need to very lightly tighten them, just snug, then depress and hold the brake lever, either with a helper or a zip tie when tightening the caliper bolts to 45 Nm.
