Akrapovič best of the best

Very noticeable difference in sound. Lot more throaty and raw. Hard to describe until you hear it. I'm not exactly sure what you'd get for them but I think nitrouz sold his set for like $2k. He was sittin on them for a while too which surprised me at that price but then again he was selling it without the upmap. If you do your own install then that would save you 400-600 as well and just keep the upmap or run it with a custom tune or no tune at all for now. Options. Video clips just don't do the sound any justice. Hearing the bike comin from a couple blocks away just sounds ferocious but not in the ear bleeding AR type of sound.

thats kinda what i did to justify purchase of my magnesiums but how much can i get for my full termignoni with under 2000 miles"¦ how much are they worth and i like a loud growl does the akra sound better?

the technical sound term for the akras are 'they sound like the ............. boss.' expert opinion.

Might be able to get 2k out of the termis.

On a serious note: congrats to Akrapovic on their success and to Ducati for taking the leap to incorporate this exhaust into their flagship model. It looks like Akra's delay to market for testing and refinement was time well spent.

I reckon you'd have to be a bit of an audiophile to want to spend extra on the change over and tuning to just get a "better sound":(
The Termi's sound great in any iteration as it is, and you get the mapping thrown in;)

Unless DUCATI start listing the Akro's in the DP catalogue with a different up-map, it doesn't seem worth it to me.

Just because the Akro's are on the SL doesn't mean that they'll ever be available through the DP catalogue as a genuine accessory for the 1199.

problem with Termi is that there is a huuuuge dif between the DP stuff and the Corse stuff.. it also shows in the price..( +60%) .. i can't check it but app the corse stuff is cleaned on the inside whereas the DP isn't.. Full titanium manifolds are only available to the factory supported teams and are still changing every other month because of ongoing development.. with the EVO and F014 bikes carrying the fully different tank/subframe combo, those pipes will not filter through to SSTK bikes.. so i guess that RS13 one will be that for quit a while... could be interesting when AKRA would also invade Ducati SBK racing as it did with the GP14 desmo.. :)

Maybe sunshinestate can make the Panigale's at the Dragon meet in May. I really want to hear the difference between them and your OEM can-mod, as yours is far deeper-sounding than the Termi's.

I'm still saving some extra funds to send you my OEM cans sitting on the shelf in my garage. Did you ever find a local powder-coater or find out what it costs to get the cans jet-hot coated? I'm lazy and want to send it to you and get it back ready to bolt-on, all blacked out.

JeffD, If you're not busy this weekend ill take a trip up to orlando for a visit. I need to stack some miles on the bike anyways for break in. Ill have just about everything done on my bike aside from AFAM sprockets, chain and the ECU. Once the bike gets it's 600 mile service the ECU is going to rapidbike for some changes. So if you're free sometime this weekend and the weather holds up we can meet up.

Looking forward to seeing/hearing the mythical Akrapovic in person! We'll have to take videos for the forum and I can show you the few sad roads we have around here.

PM'ing you for details for meet up.

Cool idea. I really wanna hear it and show up with my latest dyno results for you.

Haven't finished looking yet... Might consider it for mine now too though...

I'd say it is a bit cooler than stock (v2).

Interesting. I sort of remember something about Ti having different heat-dissipating characteristics than steel. Perhaps the full Ti headers have a role in mitigating some of the heat felt by the rider?

Congrats! Video next!

Should be complete by evening. rearsets and mwr filter still need installed. plus i was waiting on throttle tube so I can actually drive bike being I broke it lol. A member here got me the tube and saved my ass. You know who you are and thanks!

Definitely hotter than my stock upgraded heatshield. It's HOTT! Which means do not putter around town. This is my experience. Definitely not cooler but I doubt my rear hugger will melt again since it is more open back there than before. Oh ...... well.

For those of you already running Akras, are you guys using exhaust wrap on the header pipe or did you just upgrade to the newer stock heat shield / carbon heat shield?

Am wondering what would work out best to address the heat issues that have been discussed at length here and since they seem to run hotter than the Termis I wanted to have all bases covered..
