Akrapovic Exhaust install Ahhhhhh

Well guys I'm finally going to do it. I made the decision and did a alot of research. Pipes come in today and I just got my UpMap t800. So I'm going to use the termi upmap for the exhaust. Just from my research and speaking to Mani from Motomillion this was the better option to get the most performance out of the exhaust.
So I I'll be starting this great endeavor Monday morning. I have work:( tomorrow.

But I'll inform everyone when it's done and pictures as well. Wish me luck guys.

Hello, it does but only the dealership can do it, plus they wanted to charge me like 500 dollars to do it. They use the serial number from the box to match and verify it. Then ducati sends them a upmap.
So that's why I went with the t800 upmap.
 
ah, so its true you can buy exhaust second hand but the dealership has to clear the bike the exhaust is linked to....sounds like a scam from ducati and akrapovic

Yes you can my good sir. Just cant get the originally map for the bike. Just get the UpMap t800 not expensive bro. Check out Motomillion. Always have great deals especially if you call.

I forgot to add this to the post.
Has anyone or know how to change the coolant on the v4? While I'm doing this exhaust I figure I could do this to help with the heat problem.
 
There is a copper bolt on the lower left side of the radiator.

Warm the bike up and take the bolt out to drain

That won't help the heat problem AT ALL. No kind of combination of coolant will help with that. Maybe placebo if anything.
 
Replacing the coolant with demineralized water & water wetter will bring the temps down a little.

When you are in stop and go traffic it will go from “holy .... my thigh is on fire” to “holy .... I think my thigh is about to catch fire”

A few degrees cooler is still uncomfortable.

Hi! Your information is very informative, do you know Umap t800 will it clear the check engine light?

I forgot to mention I got some extra heat wrap for the sides as well.
I'm going to try really anything. It's just so hot in ATL, it's either you ride super early or at night

Hi there again, doesn't the Akrapovic comes with "control unit"? What are they referring to on the description? If you have pictures, would be nice!

It's better then nothing right ? I'll take the heat instead of getting 1st degree burns lol
 
You can also remove the thermostat, to help with the heat

As far as what comes in the box for the exhaust, you get the mounting pieces, the carbon fiber heat guard, the sprint air filter and directions on the install. That's pretty much it. There is no control unit that comes with it. The t800 is completely seperate and is if you want a different upmap compared to the akrapovic upmap
 
This has been posted before. NO control unit comes with the Akrapovic. Akrapovic's method of supplying the proper tune is a factory one. You must go to a dealer. The dealer is able to take your VIN and the serial number of the exhaust and get tune file that only they can load with their factory programmer.
