Akrapovic Exhaust on a Panigale

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

It appears that the Superleggera will be the first one to have the Akrapovic exhaust system included..

See the image of the pipe and it looks to be an Akra for sure and not a Termi

If you're dealer won't work with you on warranty claims because of an aftermarket part (unless it's 100% clear the issue was caused by the part), you need to find a new dealer IMO.

This isn't some aftermarket part you slap on and forget about. It involves remapping the factory ecu. Obviously I'm not referring to you putting on an exhaust and trying to do a warranty claim for blown fork seals. Clearly they have no connection between the two. However, if your engine blows or anything else that could be tied to remapping your ecu, I can't imagine any dealer covering such claims through warranty unless it is ducati endorsed like termi's. This has nothing to do with finding another dealer. This should be common sense. If this wasn't the case, there would be a tonnnnn of dollars lost by Ducati for doing claims on something they don't endorse. I take my Evo to the dealer for basic maintenance. It is heavily modified and they are aware of that. Even if they didn't know .... about cars, they most certainly can hear the loud exhaust and lopey cams. If I blew a head gasket, my clutch packs, transfer case or worse, my motor, I'd look and feel like an idiot for showin up at a dealer tryin to put in a warranty claim. If my ac stopped workin or my nav or any other factory item did, they're not going to deny my claim since my pro tuned car has nothing to do with my nav or ac.

Another thing that is interesting... all the images of the akro for the pani are gloss cf, this appears to be matte. Is that an option or did the dude have it matte finished. So many questions...

I spoke to the guy briefly. He's a lurker....maybe he'll sign up and claim responsibility?

I'll get more info on the tune from MotoCorsa and post.

The CF was a satin and/or egg-shell finish, not a matte. I'm guessing that anyone who likes screaming gold rearsets would prefer shiny CF, so it's a safe bet that what you see in the pics is the real deal and unmodified.

Though there was a time I was worried about warranty issues--and even engine-blowing issues, I've yet to run into anything anywhere near catastrophic with my motor and I surely haven't ran across any dealers who flip out over an item that hasn't been baptized with Ducati Holy Water. Yamaha or Honda or Suzuki might pull the whole "your fork seals blew because of the extra pressure in your transmission caused by the pumping of your aftermarket shock" excuse, but not Ducati.

if my bike didnt come with the termi, id no question go with akra. The better option without question.

So , compared to the full Termi, how do they sound different ?

I told the whole community how it sounds but noone believed me told you now u got your proof!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know a lot of ppl were sceptical of what i said since i was only one with the akra.

Am so glad now :)

Ok for ppl out of the Slovenia country i do not know,Igot personal warranty from akrapovic that anything that happens to the bike will be fixed without asking!!!But i did have the first one onthe road but never the less akra is one of the best firms ever possible. This was told to me in person but i know ppl in factory.

All you need to do is install akra put the up-map and ur ready to go,if in any case light comes on cause of exhaust valve then you use termi connector for the valve and you just plug it in that is it.

Ronin could you put a video of yours up? Would be great if we can get more videos of it in action..

If Termis are 8" subs, Akras are 12". On the throttle it sounds on an open road a little like Termis (or a stock exhaust) sounds in a tunnel. It's definitely louder by a couple decibels, but that's not what you really notice. It's the deeper tone and the extra bass.

Of course, I haven't heard Termis in a while, but I can't think of anyone who'd ever say the Termis sound better. If price is no object, this is the can to have.

Guys you obviously have little clue,i got akra on last few months full openeed and we compared to termis it is so much louder its ridiculous really. You test it like we did throttle full 1-4 gear and you will go
WTF LOL UNREAL

Start your bike in the garage and get it on video.

@AntiHero, according to David at Rexxer, they come with gloss carbon. Could you find out from the dealer that installed it what they did to give it the satin finish?

Or if anyone has done it that has the knowledge, please post. Thanks!

I really like this exhaust and am seriously considering getting it... but hate the gloss on the cf. I am at a loss as to why akro would not have the option since the bike comes with satin cf.

The shop that installed it was motocorsa, they have a guy who can out a matte finish on gloss CF

As far as i know and i live in Slovenia and i really have connection in highest places in factory, they do not make satin finish carbon i seen 3 first three products all gloss, and gloss looks better(maybe the changed it now but there is no bike without gloss finish carbon i mean i never seen one).now maybe they changed something for us market but that does not make sense.,or maybe few dealers asked akra to make satin but also he would not do that.

Akrapovic is not really into ducati he makes it for prestige he does not have much from ducati since duc has termis. So this markert for him is just pleasure and prestige.

For all you guys if i didnt unplug the battery i would do a drive by on 0 celsius but this way too much work but will do it as soon as sun hits .......... in few months :(
