any help on XMas day? warning lights

Hope some 1299 guru can assist? I took the bike out this morning after a few Km the engine light came on RED as well as the orange light flashing that said RACE, then in the right hand bottom corner the yellow engine symbol was also illuminated.
I shut it down and it went away but all came back within 5 or so Km and ideas what this means?
Bike still has power and starts ok but the quickshifter has now failed? any comments will be appreciated, bike has 2998 km on clock.

Hi Captain Greg, you and I got our bikes the same week, an S delivered that same week also had this problem.... Check what the QS status bar shows. Mine had all the symptoms above and the Qs bar showed three lines instead of u-d.

I am 99 persent sure it is your QS that failed.

Thanks Tinus, not sure how to check the bars as you have described, but in race and sport on the panel it shows U D ?

I will go and look at the gear selector and see if any bolts are lose

Update : so I left it for an hour started right up quick shifter works and all lights normal ?..

A bit concerning .... any thoughts?

Have you washed her recently in preparation of this day off?
I think that if it is the quick shifter the Qs bar will not show U-D, it only shows a line....
Maybe just a wet connector, ride her and park in the sun and wind for a bit and see if it clears.
Damn man, dealer is only opening on the 12th of Jan....

I only had two orange lights ? The engine light and then the race mode flashing, I did mess a lot of gas down the tank seapeage and over the tank when I filled it up this morning when I was so excited about leaving before my wife's extended family were to arrive for lunch.

Just my luck I'm home now with all the gypsies and a intermittent bike

Hi Captain Greg,

I had the same problem. It was the quick shifter that needed replacing. According to the dealership the part number of the QS had been superceded, which means it has been upgraded I assume. It is a bugger of thing to ride using the clutch again.

Today my QS died completely

I have set the software to QS off and am riding it in race mode
Is there any damage if I rude it like this until it's service interval?
It started to just hunt while in the Cruze and the shifter stopped working up or down, now with it set off the bike rides normal no hunting at steady gas settings. Any ideas

Same thing happened to me within the first 1000 mi. I had to take it to the dealer three times before they would warranty repair it. They put a new QS unit in and I haven't had a problem since. Good luck!
