This is certainly an anomally, I cannot think of another battle. If Rich would stay off, I am sure this will die eventually. We are un-modded, and this stuff is bound to happen with these type a personalities. I am sure at a pub we would all get along, except right after meeting Burnsy, I'd punch him in the face and say "I'm good", lets have a beer! I'm sure someone else has done that before
If I may, i would like to add one more thing.
I am of the opinion that at the end of the day it would be possible to truly meet at the pub, and share a couple of drinks and sort this out in a fair and reasonable fashion.
However, someone who shall remain nameless has done more damage to this forum in so few posts, that it beggars belief.
It appears, for all intents and purposes to be trolling. Judging by his demeanour.
This individual (reading between the lines) is an AR fanboy due to the simple reason that AR is fitting a system to an 1199 R, presumably owned by himself.
The individual has IMO to date contributed ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE in any post whatsoever.
This individual has been guilty of back stabbing someone who was mistakenly trying to be helpful, by running to Rich and telling tales (.... stirring). This act alone has directly resulted in serious damage to the relationship between the vendor and the most model customer any manufacturer could possibly wish for, ultimately back flowing (like .... up a sewer pipe) into the forum and propelling this matter in ever decreasing circles downward.
And this is the worst example of AR's business model, the fact that he implied to the model customer on a public forum that he ultimately may well not get his heat shield after all the work/money the customer had put into getting it to produce the claimed performance levels.
IMO AR has it's share of problems. The least of which is the (you're either with me or against me) attitude/belief system of the Promoter/Customer Service Representative.
Which caused the model customer to feel intimidated to the point where he felt as though he had to play a percentage game with the vendor.
I totally empathise with the model customer in this case. It must have been a very uneasy feeling having to deal with on that level.
Trauma, personally i'm inclined to think we may well have to flip a coin to see who will lay the first punch on this .... stiring mongrel:-(
Further, I still believe the product is good.
I do find the material interesting, but I suspect it needs to be thin walled to get the weight down. Therein lies the structural issue.
It just needs to be reengineered a bit to make it truely fit for service.
In terms of value for money after one factors in the extra costs/complexities associated with getting it all working on the dyno???????????
Then to top it all off one has to buy the heat shield separately, which should come standard with the system due to genuine safety reasons to prevent accidental burns.
