Austin Racing Inconel Install - Part II

For those interested in the Tuneboy tune its worth looking at how it transformed the bolt on performance of the AR exhaust on my bike with latest upmap, to the Tuneboy tuned AR. We actually did a run that was 169HP without tuning but the effects are the same.

NB: this was the very first run when we bolted on the AR on the more conservative dyno (hence the different numbers.

So it loks like the AR requires tuning, major, and TB does a great job!

Yep but to be fair so has every exhaust I've ever owned to get the best out of it. The bike didn't feel anywhere near as bad as that graph suggests at normal riding, remember those are full throttle runs.

If I was looking for an alternative to Termi or Akra full system the I reckon the AR is a contender although they are all ignoring the 800lb gorilla in the room, the Termi Slip-ons.

However to leave it at that would be ignoring a 6-7 kg weight difference and the amazing sound - which is really just the sound of Ducati without mufflers (the Bunbury 1199 at the drags with full Termi and no mufflers sounds very similar). I owned the Slips and the sound was nowhere near as emotive.

I can't really convey the aural pleasure of the pipe at full song on a forest highway sweeper, clicking through the gears and listening to the cacophony of sound ricocheting off the trees. :D

Carlo.... So If a buyer was looking for the best bang for their buck... would you say Termi slip and TB tune was the way to go??
In your opinion of course.. :)

Sounds like we need an AR slip-on? It won't have the weight savings, but the sound will be impressive and should have similar performance. :D

It certainly sounds like it. Now I just need to find a tuner in my area that uses TB software.

:D I don't think we will be hearing form AR anytime soon....

Stock....

That's always a choice... But Termis look better.. sound better.. no flapper thingy.. and if you buy at the right price then its no where near $2000 for the slips.. and install them yourself and its an even better "bargain"..

Ok, so 5,000 posts later - which is the best? :D

I may have to go with Trauma on this one. I was considering slips, but for 3 HP and a slight change in sound (not as dramatic as the termi upgrade on other ducs, IMHO) I don't think I see the value in it. I don't need the performance of a full system (any of them) so as much as it pains me I may just stay stock..

Found them for 1800 on fleabay, we still haven't ascertained warranty issues here. Plus 600 for TB, still basically $2400 for 2 stickers, I paid $10 for :D

I am feeling the same. :(

With that money...sell the S and get the R! lol

I hate myself right now.

Or wait for the future RR?!?

Yeah, hearing the sound bounce is awesome! It's sweet hearing it bounce off the road through a right hand sweep. I was riding with a few other people last week and I was in the back they said it sounded like I was right next to them, hahaha!

I'm only running one baffle. Two didn't really seem to different to me.

Bank holiday in the UK, he is probably riding his bike. It would be nice to leave the unnecessary comments out of this thread and continue the same old stuff on the original one.
