Almost in disbelief today. Went to the bank to withdraw the 21K I needed for my Pani only to get a lecture from the Bank Manager on why I was spending that much money on a motorcycle? My answer.......cos I fookin can!

lol...after picking up your bike, come back to the bank and let him see/hear/drool all over the 1199. then maybe he realizes what he's missing in life...XD

He stopped abruptly when I did a huge "hippo yawn" whilst he was talking about the current economic climate.....zzzzzzzzzzz!

just doing your part to help the economy

This.

My bank is awesome. The lady remembers us every time we go in, and she INSISTED that my wife and I email pics to her personal account asap so she could see it. :)

That is frigging hilarious man! Never would I think they would make a statement like that instead of saying congrats to you! Id pull chocks and switch banks. Im sure his boss there would love to know he was poking his nose in your business like that ! lol

What a dick:mad: Duckyduc is right,ya should av told him to get a life. Glad you rubbed his nose in it. It"s probably better for it too, having been up his bosses for so long :p:D;)

I think I'd change banks and tell this Putz's manager why. What a tool!

It's not like you're spending HIS money, after all.

You're a better man than I. I'd have said something quite rude....like tstephenson.

I would have never told any person at the bank what I was doing with my money for sure. Last time I sold a car and got a big check, I went to deposit the money and the clerk tried to talk to me about the money. But since she was cute..... LOL

hmm, probably too much information volunteered to a bank employee, but definitely not called for. I'd start shopping for another bank if that had happened to me. ..

Keep in mind, you're taking money out of a bank at a time when the bank may have questionable reserves. Are Spanish banks backed by the equivalent of the American FDIC? There was an interresting radio piece a few months back where a Greek bank employee described how he was told by his management to council customers not to withdraw large sums of money in an effort to avoid a bank run. This sounds similar. I don't think Spain is there yet, but it's a thought.

My investment in my first Duke probably was not in line with the type of investment he was looking. Probably is better than a Spanish goverment bonds however........LOL!

Haha Im surprised he didn't try harder. when you take into consideration the reserve requirements and the multiplier effect, losing $21,000 in cash is equivalent to losing $210,000 for the banks. Especially if it's a smaller bank it will make big a difference. He was only interested in what's was good for the bank and cared less about what you planned on doing with the money. Next time you see that fool tell him you want to transfer your account elsewhere and then tell us how he reacts.

My thoughts exactly ;)

I woulda told em'..."I'm gonna invest half of this cash on hookers and blow and waste the other half on a motorcycle"

AND the bank is paying such high interest to you for keeping the money there too!

Chris

True, but let's not forget that the minuscule interest rates for deposits are about .2-.6%. If you look at the inflation rate I want to say its about 2%. So whatever little interest the bank is willing to pay you it will be offset by the rate of inflation. I think right now the safest places to park your money would be in municipal bonds especially if you are in a high tax bracket.
