Hey,
Now that there is a few base models out there, has anyone figured out a good suspension setting for the road and track?

Hey,

im 170 Lbs and my bike seems perfect so far...tho I havent tracked it yet, I do ride hard on the road...including breaking in

Suspention set to P, and have had a pillion and felt fine...she hated it tho...said seat was like sitting on the ground lol.

My new 1198 was the same...I think most manufatures set there suspention for a rider around 160-175 Lbs

New 999 in 06, made a little adjustment one front due to a lot of wheelies ;)

I'll have to give the P a try, I'm on F right now.

I'll take to a suspension guy I know, he set up my streetfighter between sessions at a track day, nite and day difference!

How are you supposed to answer this? Settings will be different depending on intended use and more importantly weight of the rider.

You use the keyboard in front of you......that usually helps with replies. Agree, what is perfect for one rider may not work for another. What settings have you tried, road or track?????

Base Setup

I'm about 240lbs or 110kg. 1199 has 250km on the clock. Does 60% road and 40% track (top 5 Group B). Suspension set to F.

On stock settings the bike (front and rear) feels way to soft. I started at the back and adjust the preload from 12mm to about 30mm. Rider Sag measures 15mm with 5mm free sag. Seems that the rear sag is very low, but the bike still feels a little soft (squad) under acceleration. Has anyone had the same results or have I (my wife) made a mistake with the sag measurements?

On the front, changed the preload to 7 out of 10 turns clockwise, feels a bit better, but did not have enough time to test it properly.

How does this compare with anyone else on the base model?
