I did

Upgrade with a ttx rear, internaly and rod got DLC coating. Kept the marzocchi forks with nix 30 cartridges. Very low stiction here ;-)

Very good upgrade and the marzocchi with nix30 is lighter than ohlins

I like sticking with Italian stuff on my Italian bike. Matris is also an option.

What price of Ohlins are you comparing? Because I have priced them at $1125 for front insert or rear shock.

For maintenance issues, does anyone in the states work on the Biturbos?

I was quoting the TTX Mk2 shock and NIX 30 cartridges bundle from Kyle Racing on eBay ($2395): Ohlins Mark 2 TTX Shock and 30 mm Nix Cartridge Kit Ducati 1199 Panigale 2012 | eBay

With Gunny Fitz's forum discount at Bellissimoto, the Bitubo XXF61 shock is about $1107 and the ECH-29 Nitrogen cartriges are $1620 = $2727.

Regarding maintenance, Bellissimoto is the official importer for Bitubo in the USA and Lyle there told me that they are setting up the service center for all their parts. I hopefully won't be needing service until next spring or so, so I went ahead and took the leap. It really only requires a few special Bitubo tools to service the shocks and forks/cartridges, so worst case I would buy those tools and have my Ohlins suspension tech, Steve Breckenridge of Fluidology/GMD Computrack in Jacksonville, do the work for me.

If you ever about selling your bike. Get the Ohlins forks over the cartridge, keep the OE forks and sell them separately. Otherwise, the Nix30 cartridge will do. I like them very much, faster you go, more compliant they get.
