Base and I got them. I have held them up to my bike, and have no earthly idea how to iinstall, why in the world they gave them to us, not to mention appears they radomly included them.

Mine came with a roll of Ducati Performance Duct Tape..

Just throwing this out there - I'd be willing to trade mine for DP rearsets or termis if anybody is interested. :D

Is that what that is? I thought it was a striping kit, and now I have grey strpes all over my bike - it looks real racey!

You get the added bonus of having gummy sticky stripes when the DP tape falls off!

Ha - if so, I want a piece of this action! I really need to see one up close, plus I wonder if the DP Cover fits the wider fairing?

He wants mine, not yours. Mine are Arctic White so they are the "R" versions and reduce the coefficient of drag by 12% and increase RWHP by 8%. Basically you just throw these on and you have the power of an HP4.

I'll even take the termi slipons straight across. Really, I just want to do you a favor.

would you trade for titanium conrods?:D

Personally, the Base for me.

I am not good enough to notice the lighter wheels.

I can live without LED headlights, I am not sure if the illumination is superior but in any case, I don't go riding out in the hills at night because I really don't want to run into a big kangaroo.

I am not convinced that the electronic suspension adjustment has any real value. Adjusting suspension in a car is normally a time consuming job, especially gaining access to the rear shocks in many cases, so remote, electronic adjustment makes sense.

I have had several high performance cars with adjustable suspension and I am at the point now where I just leave my GT3 in a normal setting for all road use and stiffen it up when on a smooth race track.

When I do a track day on the bike I spend a bit of time the night before removing the number plate, mirrors, setting the dash up, etc, and it is hardly an inconvenience to have a piece of paper with a few settings written down and rotate a few clickers at the same time. Because of the car thing, there is no novelty factor for me also.

I keep hearing very positive reports on the Base suspension as well so I just can't see what is an $8,000 premium for the S being worthwhile.

I will be selling or trading the bike in time as well and the depreciation hit will be far less, makes me feel happy spending 2-3k on mods to individualise the bike to suit my tastes.

Unlike in the car world, we get exactly the same engine on the Base model as well which I think is awesome.

I'm ordering a base model (once my current bike is sold). Ideally I'd like to get the S with more sophisticated components however I can't justify the extra cost.

All of my riding will be done on the street as I'm not risking a $30K bike on the track where insurance doesn't exist.

I don't think the higher spec will make you a better rider.

Calitrade9, I guess you have to ask yourself why you need the S, and be honest with yourself. If money isn't an issue, then why the hell not, get the S. If money is an issue, I guess you have to ask yourself why you need the S, and be honest with yourself because at the end of the day, it's not really going to make you any faster (if that's your goal).

Oh, and hello everyone!

Mine has aero kit, I think it looks better but can't say it made much difference aerodynamically

Wafatboy, not sure about the aero kit, but the tt helmet you are wearing looks the dogs bollocks. AC

Weird, I ride at night all the time, and have yet to see one....

Oh now that I think about it, the kangaroo issue is only applicable to the Australian-spec Base. Euro and US models are fine.
