Battery Charger for V4S battery

The owners manual states "your motorcycle features a special connector for the supplied Ducati-approved battery charger for lithium batteries."

I found the connector under the seat but was the charger supposed to be "supplied" with the bike or is this purchased separately?

It lists two part numbers of chargers NOT to use, but doesn't specify a part number for which charger TO use.

Did anyone get a charger with their V4S and if not, do you have a part number for the correct charger or should I just get a Battery Tender for lithium batteries?

Did not get any charger with my V4S but according to my dealer it is the same charges that is delivered with 1299FE, Skyrich 69924821a.

This is useful. I just ordered the battery tender. The manual states the battery should be removed for charging but that is cumbersome. Does anyone who has this tender just hok it up while still attached?

I picked up the Skyrich tender & I purchased a conversion plug from my dealer that uses the diagnostic port. They stated that it is the preferred way to charge the battery on the Panigale's.

Yes. I have a regular battery and i have a tender connection that is up front on the bike, near the fork. Do they put a tender connector under the seat? How do you get to it?

Think about a lithium ion battery, they dont make you remove the battery to charge it on a laptop.

You're correct. The DDA port doubles as charging plug if you use the adapter to the link.

My old Panigale R came with Lithium battery and charger. In the kit came alligator clamps and a SAE to DDA adapter.

For reference... My V4 Speciale didn't come with a lithium charger.
 
Where is the dda port at? I have a charging connector up front on my bike that runs right off of the battery.
 
Somebody should come up with a short DDA extension cord so it can be routed to the tail "storage" section.
 
For the base V4 the port is located near the front fork. The S and Speciale are different, think it's under the seat. My V4 came with a trickle charger (in Australia).

My V4S came with a trickle charger for the lithium battery from Ducati. I was very surprised, but when you're paying $40,000 for a motorcycle, it probably should come with a few goodies haha
