+1 for Wet Mode if you have to buy the 1199

No one can tell you what is your best choice, although we can help with the pros and cons. If you're responsible and willing to be patient, you can start with an 1199 and be successful. It will take years of practice though and I couldn't conceive running the bike in full power mode initially.

If you have no experience on bikes, you can't possible conceive how powerful an 1199 is in full-power mode (Sport or Race). Even in Wet Mode it is staggering compared to a car, etc.

It's not even how mad people drive in Russia but also the road hazards of the roads themselves, I've seen missing manhole covers huge pieces of missing asphalt to name but a few.
At least start with a 600 or something first before stepping up to the latest SuperBikes

thanks, understand however will riding HD 889 will not be enough to jump 1299 at 120 low?

I have no experience riding a motorcycle
But this bike is impressive to me.

My friend has a Ducati 999 and I can imagine what kind of beast this bike, though inferior to the characteristics of the 999 1199.

What will advise:
Take 1199 and the first year of driving very carefully
Perfected in the second year.

Or take something simpler, like evolution, 848. (Or is it a hard for beginner, too)

Give expert advice for the beginner in motorsport, please.

Thanks in advance for your opinion
This will be your friends inevitable destiny if he buys a super bike as a first bike...

Russia & Ukraine, speeding tickets will not be an issue, half the time you just out run them, for the times you have to stop, no worries it's so corrupt just slip them a few $$$, of course when I was there being a foreigner $20- was never enough.
My friend & I also from UK got stopped, he refused to pay them, they eventually got bored 30 minutes later let him go.

Maybe ridding on Low 120bhp might help
