Best kit for 1199 engine rebuild and what sites?

I'll post a list of part numbers later however the bearings will be specific to each application. You can determine this be the letter codes and validate with measuring bearing gap clearances.

Unfortunately no. I've rebuilt many other motors before so knew the basics and then spent a good deal of time researching and speaking to the small group of ducati engine building for guidance.

Every situation is different depending on what your doing but once you know what you need it's just ordering from Ducati directly.

There are a few companies like Athena that make aftermarket gasket kits but I just stayed with the OEM Ducati parts.

Do you have any builders around the Northeast that you recommend?

Here's a good list to start with:
  • 79120531B Liner gasket rings (need 2 sets)
  • Head gasket 78611212c (need 2 gaskets)
  • Oil filter 44440312B (need 1)
  • Rod bolts 77916192c (need 4 bolts total as one time use)
  • Piston rings 12120561B (2 sets)
  • O ring for oil pick up 88641331A
  • Oil pick-up assembly 89420113B
  • O ring clutch cover 88641761A
  • Con-rod bearings x 4 (measure and compare to code chart)
  • Main bearings x 4 (measure and compare to code chart)
  • Case green O ring 88641701a
  • Long head bolts 76610781a (8)
  • Short head bolts 76610801a (2)
  • Long head bolts dowls 71110932a
  • Piston pin circlip 121126041B (4)
I also was planning on replacing the water pump plastic gear with the steel version.

Where are you located? I'm near Detroit. Duc Shop ship in Georgia and Boulder Motorsports in Colorado are good.

Depends what your doing but in general I would say it's cheaper to swap another motor versus the rebuild unless you enjoy it like I do or want to keep the original motor. The OEM parts are about $1500 and you'll have $2k in labor on average and that's with the motor removed and that's just a base rebuild. You can get decent used ones for $3k so it's really up to you on what you want to do with it. I like to do it myself and no one will take the time to balance the parts and check every clearance and that's the best way to do it.

Do you plan on re-using the piston and valves?

Valves no but I've got a full rototating assembly for the 1199 I am not using if you need (crankshaft, rods, pistons). Messgaes me if needed
