Hi,

just bought myself the new Sena 20S headset for my helmet and i'm really impressed (Music, GPS directions....).

Only problems seems to be: I forgot that there might be a Problem with the loudness of the panigale
I got the Termi Slip ons installed with no baffles. Due to the noise, its actually pretty hard to hear the headset.

I normally wear earplugs while riding the 1199. With earplugs, i can barely hear the headphones (additionally, its pretty unsafe riding when wearing earplugs AND listening to music, since I wouldnt be able to hear any outside noise(police, ambulance...)).

I tried riding without earplugs.. still can barely hear the headphones due to the loudness of the bike.

Any of you here who also have a bluetooth headset and ride with it on the 1199? How are you even able to here anything over the heasdet while the bike is running?

When I'm with the panigale....it must be just me and her...so I'm glad that I cannot hear the phone;)

Sena for me as well. Have the audio jack plug for ear buds and use a HIGH end set that works perfect for all music, GPS, cell etc and that is just fine with me!

If I remember correctly Gunny you have some very expensive earbuds. I remember looking up the website when you posted about these before.
What was the brand you have ?

cheers

Unless I'm extremely hard on the gas (ie. on the track) I don't have a problem hearing my sena 210 with stock speakers.

I paid $24,000 for that sound. Sure ain't going to cover it up with music. :D

I ride with ear plugs in. Some high end ear plugs should do the trick. What do car racers use to communicate? Those are just ear plugs. Tried it on my other bikes and it worked OK, but all the wind noise and motor noise, trying to listen to music just was a noise overload. I try to escape that on the bike, just the roar of the engine for me, thanks.

+1 for me, I use my custom-molded Westone CR10 earbuds with my Sena using the audio jack plug. It's whisper-quiet on the highway, the music volume can be left low so you don't get fatigued by it and can still hear the major ambient noises, and if you want to make or receive a phone call it's perfectly clear.

I use the sena mostly for navigation, has been ok with the stock exhaust. A phone conversation was ok too, as long as I'm just tooling around town.
My sena was loud enough with earplugs in on my old bike, haven't tried on the 1199 yet. [I usually only put in earplugs on longer/or highway rides]

Scala rider G9X for me and its all good nice sound quality even when on the phone

If anyone wants a Scala G9 Powerset (2 units, pre-synched), PM me!! I have one that we used as a display when we were selling Scala in our store, still new, been repackaged back in the box, you can have it CHEAP! ;-)

+1 here... I used to use the stock speakers with surefire ear plugs (mostly for the wind noise through my X12 helmet) but JeffD turned me onto the jack and some TDK-900. They have some great sound, mold to the inside of your ear and also only about $40. Can now talk, hear music, phone calls, directions and also hear the sweet sound of the termi/V-twin music. I will forewarn you... you will tend to ride faster... this is due to wanting to hear the termi exhaust roar like before you had these jack/headset.

I use plantronics bluetooth earbuds connected to my Iphone/Pandora app. They are good enough for listening to tunes, but I'm able to hear emergency sirens nearby also even with my Termi slips.
