after a lot of um'ing and ar'ing i have decided to cancel my 1199 order, i am gutted but i will own one eventually until then, I hope everybody on here that has ordered one enjoys their bike and please remember very jealous english bloke with an empty garage every time you press the starter button, every time you pull away from the lights, every time you tip it into a corner.

this will be my last visit here.....until i own a Panigale at least.

Goodbye ducati1199.com its been emotional,

Ben

Sorry to hear that. Sounded like insurance was an issue for you. Cold comfort but at last us 40 plus guys have gone through what you are going through. Being old seems to have some (minimal) benefits......lower premiums being one !

While money i suppose is the ultimate reason for cancelling the order i found insurance prices fair i was going to be spending almost £16k on the bike so another 1000 for insurance wouldn't have really been an issue.
I just now need the money for more pressing issues. :(

I'm sorry to hear you cancel your order, but I understand where you're coming from. There have been a few times during my riding years where I had to wait a year or two for the bike I wanted because the finances just weren't where I needed them to be to make it happen.

You're still welcome to hang out on the forum and next year, you can either a) get a 2012 1199 for a reduced price or b) get a 2013 1199 which will come with the ABS as a standard option. :)

I want to, I really do... but I just won't be thinking of you when I hit the starter button.

Hope things turn around for you.

lol. Rhino that's sooo cold. I too contemplated canceling my 1199 Panigale order (spent some time reviewing the MV Agusta F3). I was even going to just pick up an F3 for a couple months of riding until the 1199 arrived (fortunately for me, money isn't a problem), but after much consideration, and the fact that the MV isn't available in the U.S. yet either, I'm keeping my 1199 Panigale order.

Keep your chin up Ben. Or, as Fred Flintstone once said...think big and be big. I'm sure your financial situation will turn around. Hell, even Ducati has seen financial woes. :)
