CA Fix It Ticket - Advice

Update

Hey guys - I appreciate everyone sharing their experience and reminding me about what a mess CA is these days (all true!).

Anyway I put my "other" tail light assembly on last night, which isn't stock but at least doesn't have the plate under the tail. I thought that if it doesn't pass inspection I have time to replace the side reflectors, blinkers, mirrors, exhust, etc.

I went to the CHP station this am, which was hilarious as the bike was still cold and would barely idle so I had to keep the RPMs up so it wouldn't stall which meant it was very (very) loud. I coasted in the parking lot and went in with the ticket for inspection.

I walked up to the window and the CHP officer asked me what I was here for and I said 'fix it ticket' for the plate. He asked if I fixed it, I said yes and then he stamped my ticket as legal and didn't even come out to look at the bike!

A good ending and I plan on paying the $17.00 court fee and putting the plate back under the tail. I also plan on keeping the Competition Werkes tail tidy on the Panigale....life is too short not to enjoy the bike the way I want and worth $17.00 and spending some quality time with the LA Sheriff's Dept.

Cheers!

I was went out yesterday on my Sport 1000 and was driving down Venice Blvd and saw a LA County Sheriff on one of the cross streets. I wasn't speeding, lane splitting, keeping the RPMs low/attempting to be quite and generally behaving myself.

About 5 minutes later this guy comes up fast from behind and lights me up. He pulled me over stating he couldn't read my plate. We wrote me a "fix it ticket" for displaying my plate under the tail and was generally a complete jerk, as he I think he also had Db meter was eying the Termi for noise.

Anyway, I put the factory tail light assembly on this afternoon and will go to the CHP to have it 'verified' tomorrow and then pay the $20 court fee and be done with it. My question is does anyone know what will happen if I relocate the license back under the tail and get pulled over again? Is it just another "fix it ticket" or will I get something more serious as it would be a multiple offense?

I have the same set up on the Panigale and am just wanting to know what to expect.........as I have the same set up on both bikes it might happen again.

Cheers!

So on my car I get a no front plate ticket all the time. I've gotten it at least 15 times. I put it on for inspection and remove it after and have had no problems.

Hey Hey Hey
Haters, Relax!
It's a fix it ticket, it's not tracked.
Put your aftermarket plate holder back on after the ticket is written off.
