As most of you know i went to COTA for the motogp (my first one) and i spent a lot of time on ducati island. Ducati puts on a great event i wish i had my bike there. anyway they had all the new models out and i fell in love with the new ducati diavel.

the bike looks awesome the upgraded wheels carbon edition. i am actully considering getting this bike. i would have to maneuver some things around as my 1199 and hp4 take up most of the room.

anybody have experience on a diavel?

The diavel or the xdiavel? I rode the diavel briefly and it wad a cool bike but didn't do anything for me. The xdiavel on the other hand I loved. Easier to ride that the old bike a lnd that motor is insane.

i will ask whats the difference? I never really was into this type of bike but whichever this was it caught my eye. i think it was the xdiavel because of the exhaust but to be honest they were all there . i really liked one set of the wheels and like rivets in them.

Hmmm, not sure which one that was. The diavel I also felt the front end felt disconnected, string engine and was wider. The xdiavel has a different feel to it, more connected front end, the engine is a beast, has cruise control, and alot thinner, ot also had the forward foot pegs

xdiavel: belt driven, very cool exhaust, wider tires, footpegs are more frontside like "normal" choppers.

I rode the xDiavel S last weekend for about an hour. It's ....... rad....

Next thing you guys will be raving about cruzers and saddle bags, possibly discreetly visiting a Harley dealer
In my opinion the Daivel drivel call it what you like suffers from an identity crisis, it's a bit like a Mercedes E class, fantastic in every way but what is it? It's not a S class nor is it a Meybach, similarly the Drivel Draivel is in my opinion just a bad ... monster, and over priced. I do like the belt drive.
But will not be trading any of my bikes to add one to my toy box;)

Have you ridden the new one yet? I don't think it has any identity crisis at all. It's a cruiser, and a damn good one at that too.

It's comfortable, it sounds good, it looks good, it's got tech, it's [very] fast, it handles great, and the price is exactly what one should expect coming from Ducati. I don't think it makes people want to go look at Harley's.

On the contrary, it gives people that would normally stick their nose up and scoff at the idea of buying a cruiser cause to stop and think objectively about it, instead of emotionally. Ducati sells a lot of Diavels and they are going to sell a lot more of these xDiavels. Are they for everyone? No, but neither is the Panigale or the Hypermotard.

The new Diavel is a fantastic bike.

i had a 2013 diavel and i thought the bike was really great, it's good at everything but not a master at anything.

for cruising, short trips, weekend away (with some bags) and hitting the twisties it's a very well rounded bike.

i have thought about buying another one but just don't ride on the street very often.

Have I riden one yet? Not the new belt drive one that has the slightly lower power, sorry guys for me it's got an identity crisis , it has a focust cost and when we focus we must not be confused. It's the same for me when I see a Lexus, before you ask I have driven one (the LFA) fantastic tech, fantastic interior, fantastic acceleration bla bla bla, but it's still a Lexus, and we cannot place the word Lexus and adoring super car in the same sentence without contradiction. Daivel is possibly good at everything, (except touring? The reason for cruzers and luggage) but naked bikes become uncomfortable at high speeds, and we need to re visit the reason upright bikes with a good power to weight ratio were conceived, if I were to wake up tomorrow and found a new Daivel standing wher my 1299 stands now I would just be depressed!
So before we get confused double cab bakkies in my opinion are also suffering from an identity crisis (to bring reference to my previous comments on the Daivel) the double cab does nothing perfect but does serve a person married to a fat ... chick who has pushed puppies a reasonable option, it can't pack a full load, it can't seat 4 adults the back is just to small, and bla bla bla, whereas a purpose built vehicle can load a ton, or a car can seat 4,adults the double cab cannot, like a leatherman, handy nice to have but can't actually do anything perfect.
If you want to Cruze there are better options, if you want to go fast there are better options, if you want to hoon ( the Daivels market I assume?) there are better options, like a KTM super Duke or KTM Smc.

Just my comments.....Ducati for me is agile Red, sexy and capable, it must have the hallmarks of a mistress, we would not want our mistress to cook or clean or iron, despite the convenience of those tasks, for that there are other more suitable options

test rode the diavel in 2012 while waiting on the delivery of the pani.

really liked it. thinking of getting a used one. the new one is cool, but the forward pegs , hmmm...
x-diavel? yup , i'd hit that.

here's a vid of the guy who test rode the exact same diavel on the same day i did ;) :

i was told he had fun :D

ok first nobody said anything about replacing a superbike with the daivel nor anything about harley.

what was said is i was at ducati island and the daivel was there and it looked fantastic. if i were to get another bike (that means in addition to the ones i have not replace) i would consider this.

the reason for the title is i hate cruisers and harleys. i would never get rid of any of my bikes to buy the daivel i would add to the collection.

says the guy trashing the pani and whining about ducati for how many years ¿ ¿

lol

I have an 1199R and a Diavel. I ride the Diavel around town most of the time, and the 1199R in the canyons and tracks. I'm not saying that the Diavel is not capable as it's very agile for the type of bike it is--the bike itself has an identity crisis and not the rider.

XDiavel S will replace my Diavel Black. XDiavel is a cruiser and very fun to ride. It will not compete with my Panigale (that's reserved for the S1000RR). My Multistrada 1200S is a LEMON and going back so it gets 0 ride time.

saw the X on the street here and it is really nice -- with mid controls i may be in...
