Oh dear..... I'm not from the clan, ?... me I hate CF..... both my cars are CF one is grey one is white..... both come from the U.K..... I just can't understand why guys want a carbon look ? With respect it's a material not a finish?.. It's ugly ...yes it's strong but ffs we don't have to prove it to people who don't understand?
My Pani is red and even if I could afford to replicate it in CF I would rather gargle with bees, besides bring on a weekend warrior with his carbon 1299 and me with my base 1299 do you really think your going to be much faster around the local pass?
just saying;)

I lay up a lot of CF, and none of it is on my bike. It's structural on R/C aircraft that I scratch build.

I bought a few peices from Carbonworld, ended up sending them back as they didn't fit at all well.

One of the things I bought was the mounts for the fluid reservoirs, totally different to OEM and didn't fit at all. The tabs were totally different shape and in a different place.

At the same time I bought a cover for the steering damper and that was a totally different shape with different cut outs and this was despite asking if it fit the Ohlins damper.

Sent all that along with the other bits back, guy was a total cock as well!

Yeah it's the one with the coolant reservoir so long story short I know Carbonvani makes descent stuff but this thing has been tons of work. I had to grind, add carbon, tweak mounting points and add spacers to make this thing fit. Definitely a big $$$ part and very time consuming that's for sure.

The piece with the coolant reservoir, right? I was wondering how much tweaking you'd have to do. I bought the "cover" for the OE plastic piece. But was thinking I'd rather just buy the replacement carbon piece. Looking forward to pics.

Then my question is,what screws is being used because im pretty sure these wont be included from Fullsix?
Correct you won't get any fixings. I used an M6 Allen headed bolt, nylon nut and an M6 threaded collar. You don't need to tighten them too much. Just nip them up enough to stop the MAP sensors from rotating in the housing.

For the money it shouldn't be such an effort to fit. Also from the look of that piece it looks like wet lay carbon as opposed to pre-preg, judging by all the individual pieces used. In any case congrats for making it work. I bought two Carbonvani tail seat panels for my old 1199 and they were shockingly bad.

I choose to replace parts that are black plastic with CF but leave any of the painted pieces alone/as is. I feel this approach gives a nice touch to the finished look of a bike.

Thats my goal too, only black plastics

Yeah I agree for such an expensive part from Carbonvani it should have been high quality and fit with no mods but definitely not the case. Everything on the part was good except for the upper cross member. It was really rough and looks like it was a wet layup and rest the part was pre preg.

Had to get rid off the oem scraped trays. I always crash doing trackdays in Spain..
Got the Fullsix electronic panels, 80% of the tabs needed filing, one holder was missing versus oem. Another holder was backwards, mounting the relays upside down.
Quality and looks is great on these.

I found the site but there were two options standard 200 and something like 245 twill? I want to march carbon that the bike comes with. Would that be the standard or the 245 twill? Any idea?

I was thinking about getting these but from what you stated above it sounds like a lot of issues for almost $1000.00 parts..??

It is the 200 you want, 245 Twill is what BMW use.....it is stronger.

I had to do a little bit of grinding to make the tab fasteners slide on my CDT electronic holders. CDT has lowered the prices on there parts. OPP racing price on a set is about $870 in matte.

I got them for 580$ from Carbon4us.com. But now they seem to have raised the price. You can always try...
They're very good to deal with.
And its not that much work, see it as therapy. And im sure somebody here will help you if you encounter a problem.
Hell even i with my non existing patience managed it..

Wow, that's a great price! About how long ago did you get them?

Thanks,
-John
