Occurred to me some time back it might well behoove Ducati not to do so well this season; might give them some ammo for getting the weight penalty and intake restrictions backed off for next season when the Panigale becomes the SBK racebike. What they can do and who they do it with in 2013 will probably depend on how much of their competition budget (if any) gets sucked up supporting #46.

Wow by now it seems to me like the panigale is actually a failure for ducati, a swing and a miss. Well Im stuck with it and I guess I'll have to keep riding it...
The bike is already a winner in World Super Stock! I think things will go well next year!

I think you hit the nail on the head there!
Ofcourse Checa ain't getting any younger, only has a few seasons left, and if someone wants to pay him a truck load of money he'll consider it!!!!1 However I think the journalist are putting 1 plus 1 together and coming up with 3. Checa has not said he doesn't like the Pani at all, he's said only positive things.

Did you read that somewhere? I've been looking for Checa's feedback on the bike but haven't found any.
He hasn't said a lot in public except that he got a good feeling from the bike on his twitter, which of course he wasn't under any obligation to do. Hence I think it's near the truth.
