Belly Pan install

OK so this mounting bracket is a game changer.

Belly pan fits like a glove and mounts easily and securely with the bracket in place. I note a few things for anyone else going down this path:

1.) You must have either Akra or Termi exhaust. A full system makes things even easier.

2.) Cooling fan, kickstand and kickstand hanger must be removed. (Circled below)

3.) When in place the belly pan tugs slightly on the radiator and pulls it back towards the rear of the bike about 1/4". It doesn't seem to create a problem as the rubber washers on the mounting points allow some flex. Hoses are still secure. I don't see a problem here (does anyone else??)

4.) In order for the cans to mount up, these forward hanger brackets need to be grind off the Akra exhaust. Then the exhaust will only mount from the primary hanger mounts and kept secure with a snug fit on the pipes and the various springs.

Is that mount blocking the drain plug?

Nope....now that you ask I see that it looks that way in the photo, but it isn't.

Once you drop the exhaust and the belly pan, the mounting bracket is not in the way. Even if it were, it's off and on again with two bolts.

Are you required to remove the bellypan for pre-race tech? If so, I assume you have to pull the cans as well?

I put the Kraitech (or however you spell it) and do not remove the belly pan. I do remove the right fairing which makes it easier for tech to see the radiator cap safety wired and see the safety wire from the drain bolt up.

No they grant an exemption for Panigales because they know they have this "issue".

They can see it's installed and have other ways to clear you through tech.

Also one point I forgot to mention that I realized yesterday--the belly pan is supposed to go in between the radiator shroud and the lower radiator itself. There's a section of plastic that needs to be cut off in order to fit it in here.

Was going to wait to share these but the bike looks too good.

I had some free time over the weekend and decided to get the fairings fully fitted and apply the tank grips, foam seat pad and brake lever guard. Overall really happy with the fitment of these MotoXP fairings.

No exhaust right now because I still need to grind off the forward mounting tabs. Also needs number plates and some stickers but otherwise, what do you guys think?

Looks good. What brand windscreen is that? I just got body work from motoxp and have been shopping for a windscreen.

Looks awesome. Great work!

Rear frame and foam seat - what do you think the height is compared to stock normal seat? Lower? I may go these route if its lower.

Tough to say....I'm still using the factory sub frame. Difference is probably pretty small but I really don't know...haven't sat on it much or ridden it to feel the difference.

What intake do u have?

The MotoXP fairings come with an aftermarket intake scoop that is a direct fit with the factory or aftermarket fairing stay/airbox inlet.

I used a small piece of velcro tape to help keep it in place. No photos at the moment but I can post one next time I work on the bike.

I'm trying to decide what to do with all of my factory bodywork and parts.

I have everything in a big box in my garage and I'm wondering if the smart thing to do is just hang on to it "just in case", or if I could sell it all and pocket a few extra bucks.

I don't plan to ever return the bike to factory trim. If and when I sell it, I will sell it as a track day/race bike only.

As a buyer, would you pay any premium or be more inclined to purchase a race bike that came with all the factory parts? What would you do?

I’ve kept everything from my Rs, bodywork/tank/exhaust etc.
My thoughts up to now would be that I will put the bikes back to as delivered and they
would possibly spend a few years in the corner of the dining room after I quit riding.

At some point they will be sold, and will sell easier and for more in original spec.

A track only bike is looking for a more "special" buyer which means more difficulty in selling the bike.

I said that to myself the last 3 times, and have changed my mind always.
But that's just me, that's why I don't get tattoos I would change my mind as soon as I had it done :D

2018 Race License Application is off and away.

Got my tires for the season and now into final stages of bike prep. I'll have some bigger bike updates and proper photos in the coming weeks....maybe with the complete livery and number plates if I have time.
