D air suit

You can order this suit from overseas for about $1700 shipped. They don't have it yet but they will ship soon as it arrives. That's $800 off a brand new suit.

.

Dainese in USA has a minimum advertised price policy - so dealers here can't advertise anything but the MSRP price. That is not the case in Europe.

However that does not mean that everyone sells it for the advertised price...that's all I'm allowed to say....;)

but more importantly: All D Air suits have serial numbers on them. They have to be registered, warrantied and serviced through the original dealers where they were purchased. The D Air suits have special fitment demands as well or the air bag does not work properly. We have to call everyone to give us specific measurements before we ship out the suit.

ah cool, kangaroo leather is available in the custom Mugello suit. think I'll have to pull the trigger on one of those. I imagine they'll do whatever colors I want as well.

Can back protectors such as Forcefield Body Armour Pro Sub 4 and chest protectors be used with the D-Air suit ?

I have not heard of any non Dainese back or chest protectors that do not work with the D-Air suit -- but the D air suit comes with a Dainese back protector already.

Please contact [email protected] or [email protected] if you have more questions on fit or pricing. You can probably convince them to throw in chest protector...:)

Happy to report that Dainese USA has just built a proper service and repair department at their headquarters in California. They are also relocating one of their best tailors from Italy to work in California full time.

This is great news for D-Air owners, as well as all Dainese customers in the U.S. Suits will no longer need to go to Italy for repairs.

a track suit, IMHO is not somewhere to skimp on anything. who here hits trackdays with various Chinese knockoff parts on their Panigale, because the real thing is "too expensive" to be worth the extra cost of Italian manufacture (but importantly, out of trusted aluminum or titanium alloys)??

Being the month where we blow all of our money on everything, I was about to order a Misano suit, when I realized this thing is going to weigh a lot, and that is a valid concern.

Can anyone quote a weight difference between a Misano airbag suit and, say, the Dainese Trickster Evo suit, which looks to be more or less the same thing, but minus the airbag system and made of kangaroo leather?

i am also going to get one once it becomes available.
if anyone hears of a street version for sale in the USA please post it

People buy $4,000 Arai Carbon Helmet....this suit offers more (as far as body protection) and cheaper than one helmet. hah! :D

And yes, I want both, but I'm broke. :D

The air bag system is not very heavy.
Contact [email protected]. We have both the Misano and Trickster suits in stock and can weigh one in your size.
For the $2500 difference between the cowhide Misano and the Kangaroo skin version - I'd spend it on wheels or track days...

I wonder if it would have prevented me from separating both of my shoulders during my last wreck at the track doing 100+mph? I ended up missing 5 weeks work! The Dr. Wanted me to stay out longer. I would gladly pay 2500 to minimize severe injury. Now I'm worried about pushing it on the track due to losing my job, I'm in a union too!

Best prices on the internet anywhere. Have purchased lots of gear from them recently. No customs issues at all.

Where did you get this price from, just checked there web it's 2168$ not including shipping ?

I have been racing in the D-Air suit since 2013. My first 2 had to be ordered directly from Italy as they weren't available in the US. It took approximately 6 months for them to build and ship them. Since I bought the first one, the price has been cut in half. They are an absolutely bargain at $2500. The suit itself is phenomenal and worth that price even without the airbag system.

The first time I shattered my collarbone, I was still in full contact with the bike, sitting directly on the seat, both feet on the pegs. I lost the front early on corner entry on the brakes and was slammed down on my side. Compound collarbone fracture that required extensive surgery and lots of hardware.

A tethered suit wouldn't have activated because I was still sitting on the seat in the riding position. The D-Air would have activated.

Yes - it doesn't activate until you reach 30mph. Buttoning the top button turns it on, but then you have to reach 30mph before it will activate. That keeps it from going off if you trip in the pits or something.

I have tested mine. I got a ...... launch at TalladegaGP and was like 9th going into T1. Started working my way through the field and by the 5th lap I was chasing the leader down. You exit T2 and as you are driving out you have to quickly change directions and prepare for entering the next right hander. I did that and as I was countersteering at WOT the front wheel came up; when it came down it put me into a crazy tank slapper.

By the time I got it settled, I had blown my brake marker and was pointed straight off the track. I went off and there is a lot of run-off room, but it had been raining for 2 days prior to that. So since the grass was wet I couldn't get stopped.

I hit a fence and my bike hit the pole. The D-Air recognized the difference between me braking really hard and hitting something. Before my ass had fully left the seat the airbag was fully inflated. Which was a good thing, because I hit the pole shoulder first.

I stood up, wiped myself off and went back to the pits. Not a single bruise. I feel if I would have been in a conventional suit, the outcome would have been much different.

No one has mentioned the $250 it cost to reset/recharge the suit if the airbags deploy ....and that doesn't include any repairs that may be required to the suit it self :).

That's why I just order the Aero Evo D1

Seriously? Who gives a ....?

You have obviously never shattered a collarbone or broken a shoulder or anything of that nature.

For the money I missed in work after my bad crash I could have bought and race prepped 2 brand new 1299S's, and had money left over. The cost of the suit isn't .... compared to hospital bills, missed work and of course the surgeries and pain.

I really want a D-air suit but need a "tall" size or a custom fitting. Currently using a Dainese Laguna in a tall size, but feel like the D-air is more than worth it.

Chris, what do you do for work? Just wondering how you manage to race so seriously being (I assume) employed full time. More from a time perspective than a money perspective.

This suits are tailored to your size by Dainese. Feels like a second skin.
