Dair

Got my Dair suit today from motowheels.com. I'm 5'10" 180 lbs and went with a size 50 based on my measurements. With the exception of the sleeves being a little long this fits perfectly. No back protector in pictures.

Dainese sizing has changed a bit over the years it seems. I can't remember what model my first suit was, but it was a 54. I then had a Bora that was a 52, and recently the Ducati branded one I rode in was a 50. I've been 5'11" 175 the whole time. The Kangaroo suits in particular always seemed to run a size smaller than normal.

5'10 and 180 and you fit a 50????/ In A* im a 54 at 6'0 175

Yep that's correct. I plan on trimming down to 170/175 for the beginning of the season. I'd say the 50 fits like a tailored suit with the exception of the sleeves being a little long.

The arms don't look too long wuth your arms down...How does it look with your arms extended in front of you and your back rounded?
How does it feel on the bike?

They still are too long in that position. The bike is apart at the moment. I just need to get the sleeves shortened and it will be perfect.

Had an off last weekend at Sonoma going into turn 7 caused by some clown hitting me from behind. It pushed the front hard enough to break loose and lowsiding the bike. I don't remember much past the initial impact and woke up wrestling the bike off my leg which was trapped underneath.

The airbag did not deploy although there was extensive damage to shoulder and back of the suit. It is currently on it's way to Dainese for evaluation. I was going 60mph at the time of the impact according to my front facing cameras data overlay.

I came out pretty unscathed other than a sore hip and neck as well as a recovering from a mild concussion. Not sure the airbag would have helped in this particular instance which is probably why it didn't deploy.

Wow! Glad you didn't get hurt too bad. Please keep us posted as to what they say about the air bag not deploying.

doesnt matter if airbag would not have helped, it absolutely 100% should have deployed at that speed! not a good sign for consumer-level d-air..

...., sorry to hear that Larry and glad you walked away ok for the most part. How did the bike hold up?... I wonder what Dainese will say. Least you should get a new suit out of it.

Heal up fast.

Get well soon !!! Thank you for the feedback, keep us posted, its concerning when you expect things to work to protect . On the side note did you charge your suite before going out?

Suit was charged up that morning and this was my third session. The blue light was flashing when I got on the bike indicating it was in full working order.

Bike held up much better than I would have expected. I think mostly because my leg helped pad it. Replaced a peg, brake lever, bar, brake guard, rear fender and repair some paint work. My suit and helmet took the brunt of the impact.

Ok, update from Dainese...

The airbag had been deployed. When I inspected it, I did not see anything that looked like an airbag under the liner which is why I assumed it had not gone off. I have a friend that has a deployment almost every race weekend that said I should be able to see it. I could not.

According to the data they pulled, the airbag went off at 45.75mph.
