It looks like they bond the material to the seat base, then shape it, I wonder if they would just send me essentially a seat blank, with the seat material bonded to the seat base, but without any shaping done. Then I could shape the seat exactly how I wanted it.

Did you ask them to send pics?

No, they offered to send me pictures when we were discussing which shape would work best. I don’t think it would work to shape it yourself. They add the finishing top layer after they shape the foam on the base plate.

Why not just use the base of standard seat? Nothing special about the RaceSeat base

That could work, the filler material is readily available.

You still want to get ahold of RaceSeats ‘Competition’ material covering, the neoprene seat cover material hardens just a tiny bit over time a looses grip, but their completion seat cover material is really good, really grippy.

Not necessarily “special”, but iirc, they’re carbon fiber not plastic.

Hey Craig, if I remember right you have the FullSix CF fairings?

Which lower are you using to fit with our exhaust?

The one designed for the Akro exhaust needs cut to fit, the one fir the stock exhaust doesn’t but only has about half belly covered.

That’s correct - the FullSix cf RS fairings. Iirc, it comes as a complete fairing set including the windshield and lower belly section. I think Brad modified it slightly to fit, but not extensively. I’ll ask him to verify.

This is the DP race lower I’m getting prepared to install. Wouldn’t it work?

I guess it could be cut and fit to suit?

The problem is the kickstand cutout and the little bridge connection circled below.

The Spark SBK exhaust hit right where that connecting bit is, so you have to cut that section out, but that then leaves a section of your fairing unsupported that we fixed by riveting in a little connector, ugly but functional for a set of fairings I planed on destroying at the track.

I bought a lower meant for the stock exhaust that just eliminates the lower back half belly pan for the new Fairing set for a cleaner look.

Anybody here ordered from Motoholders before?

Placed my order a week ago, no message from them confirming my order or response to my emails

I've been emailing them back and forth and am on the cusp of sending the payment. They are suggesting the same type of seat, flat with squared sides and higher overall.

Did you go with the carbon fiber base with the competition cover?

I did, the competition cover is very grippy, much better than the neoprene.

On a different note the Czechnians that make the Motoholders were completely dark on communication, until they shipped, will be here today.

Yeah, custom shaped based on the competition line on cf base.

Got the Race Seat out on the road for a hour or so today since it was an unseasonably warm 75 F today. I like the flat profile and the width especially when you have half a cheek off in a corner.

I have a track day booked May 28th at Putnam Park, so that will be the big test. I will say on bumpy roads after an hour I had the thought I'd like something softer, but that's really not its intended use case scenario.

Fit wise, there were a couple of sharp spots near the front edge that I dressed with a file to smooth them out. I'm using it with the Vulturbike SBK tank cover. The fit is pretty snug since the tank cover takes up some space. I removed the rubber pad from the base of the seat which fits with the silver plate under the seat. It's easier to install while still having a solid fit.
