A co-worker of mine mentioned that he had a Desmosedici pull up beside him at a light last sunday. Looking at the bike, he saw saddlebags and a tailbaf on it. Being a passionate italian, he felt it was wrong and asked me what I thought. Being a passionate ......., I told him was blasphemy. There are certain things you just don't do. Just my opinion, it's not my bike.

How do you all feel?

I don't see a problem with it. The bike is so incredibly high maintenance and given it's reliability, I say do what you have to in order to get your moneys worth. I have a problem with the Desmos that sit in on display not being used.

I guess I'd have to go with you on this and give him props on at least using it.

Good for you! I'd rather take the bike on a trip rather than the car.

How do you like them so far?

Haven't arrived yet, but I let you know. I have a Kreiga US20 tail/tank bag, but it's hard to attach to the bike securely given the lack of frame. Also have a Kreiga rucksack, which is a great bit of kit, but I don't like riding long distance with a backpack - its not safe if you come off.

I'm hoping these panniers will be really secure on the bike and it keep the centre of gravity low too. i don't enjoy riding if I'm constantly worrying about a tail pack wrapping itself around the rear wheel.

Be careful, some people don't like passionate ........ on this forum :D .

No apologies here. I'm to old and stubborn. :D

If we weren't passionate ..... we might as well all be riding UJM's. cheaper to buy and maintain. Common sense..........;)

I have these bags on my 1199, very easy install and very practical. Haven't been on any trips yet, but the bags are decent size and should serve its purpose very well when I take my weekend trips to the beach. ALSO, the legs of the mount slide in and out so can be removed and not take away from the quite ravishing appearance of the sexy Panigale.

PM me if you would like to see pics.

Some people are so passionate that they want to enjoy every road out there on this beast. It's just that some roads are farther away than others... But that's half the fun.

I don't mind people who ride with luggage that actually need it, it's the ones that put the ....... full paniers to store their Crocs in on their Ewan McGreggor wannabe bikes to ride 15 minutes to work and effectively take up the space of 3 bikes to park their behemoth.

If a desmo was touring with luggage, then mad props. If he was going to Starbucks so he could comb his hair then that's a different story.

^ This! Speaking of the jedi's trip on long way round. You should read up on how many beamers each of them went through!

If someone pays for something it's their to do with it however they please.
I don't see the big deal.
Not what I would do but hey....If I pony up for one I'd do with it as I pleased!

No one puts panniers on a desmo to "look cool" to go to starbucks - it would be the opposite reaction. So its obviously functional for them for some of the time.

But seriously - they bought it and can do as they see wish. If someone wants to put luggage racks above a Ferrari - its their prerogative.

That being said - the Desmo has no storage of any kind. For those that don't know, the panigale's storage area is "huge" compared to the Desmo.

Personally I prefer a small backpack as I have no bags of any kind on any of my bikes.

Good point, most likely for actual use, I hope. As I said mad props if so!

I just hope the guy has his GP pit crew following him around on his tour or he's gonna have a baaaaad time :D .

No way! I think that if you have to carry so much stuff that you need luggage racks, you bought the wrong bike. It's a race bike for Pete's sake, get a Multi. Sure you can do whatever you want with your bike, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

Damn, I'm going to take a beating when I trade my Pani for a Gold Wing...
But I've got to do it, I don't want to look "ridiculous"...
