Did anyone do their own first service?

So I normally like doing my own oil changes and first service. I see on the new Ducati's you pretty much have to take the bike in to remove the early tachometer warning and the service minder.
Has anyone done the service themselves and then just had the dealer do the service reset or is everyone having the dealer do the first service?

I am a little concerned that they will give me issues if I have any engine related warranty problems.

I did already buy OEM oil and filter from Ducati Omaha I am only at about 250 miles so I haven't done anything yet.

Was curious though what the general consensus was before I hit the first service interval.

Thanks!

Did my first oil change then took it to the dealer and they reset the light and did the other checks for 1st service.
They can’t void a warranty because you change your own oil.

The only caveat I would note is that when I went to trade a Ducati Streetfighter in every dealership I spoke with wanted to know who did the first service, documentation of same etc etc. $300 is a big nut for a tarted up oil change but there may be other factors at play. If that applies or doesn't apply to you is best left to your judgement.

All that being said, I love to wrench on stuff and installed a full Akra exhaust on two Ducati bikes so far. When my Pani V4S hits the first service I'll be taking it to the dealer, if for nothing else to maintain that relationship.

The general "big deal" I understand from the first service is a once-over to see what happened in its first few miles including analyzing the oil to see if anything rattled loose and how much espresso was spilled in the engine whilst building it. If it turns out to be a little grapa instead of espresso, it was built on Friday. Second buyers might want to know that.
Before you go to the dealer check to see if you have any recalls or updates here --> Ducati Recalls | Ducati safety and upgrade campaigns | Services and Maintenance
It can be a big deal, but usually on major updates of a model. I remember the first 1098s had an experimental chrome finish on the desmo cam lobes that was coming off - found in the oil. That was a big recall.
