Been scouring the net on differences btw the to v4 models.
So far it's suspension and wheels I found.
Any other differences ?

Throw in the full Akra exhaust on an S (boosts power up to 226bhp) and you have as near as dammit the Speciale minus the paintwork and trinkets, for around $7K less.

and adds rear seat and footpeg. :RE

Current info that I have says the V4S includes:
Ohlins suspension front and rear, with the Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic control
Ohlins steering damper
Forged Aluminum Marchesini wheels
Magnesium Subframe
Lithium-Ion Battery
Carbon fiber front fender

who needs those lol

anyone who wants travel to the alps or an euro moto gp race. :pag

Oooh.. It comes with the Magnesium Subframe as well?? Nice. Wife just put a deposit down on a V4S for my b-day today!!

Sounds like I'll just need to snag an exhaust and some bits to go play.. hopefully Ducati has the race/track bodywork already ready to go. Going to need it.

Are the headlights, handlebar controls and dash all identical now ?

front subframe is magnesium, rear subframe is cast aluminium. :)

That may have gotten scrapped since the original info came out, Ducati lists Aluminum for all models on the spec as of this morning for the front frame.

If that exhaust adds 14hp you can definitely expect it to cost 7k. And that is crazy!

Front sub to Ducati is really the fairing mount, as differentiated from the new "front frame", which is AL on all models. That IS magnesium, same as it was on the now defunct V2 (feels weird saying that!).

Yes I'd call that a "Fairing Bracket", and I'd call the rear seat support the "Subframe" and the front headstock mounting piece the "Frame". So it makes sense the Fairing Bracket is Magnesium, the Frame is Aluminum, and so is the Subframe. Early indications were that the Subframe was going to be Magnesium on the Speciale, as were the wheels, but that didn't happen.

in Spain his name is araña de carenado (Fairing spider). :RE

It's actually less than I thought it would be, I was expecting $5700.
Well it's around UK £4K here, so not a million miles out. Stil a hefty chunk more than a 1299 full Akra system but if it really liberates 8kg (which I don't doubt looking at that enormous Euro 4 catalytic converter/silencer monstrosity and adds 12bhp, then that's quite a tangible improvement.
