DQS ignition cut too long, quickshiter

I have had my V4S for a couple weeks now and took it to a bike night. After a few smackdowns I realized that when shifting the bike hesitates/lags. This hesitation is the result of the DQS ignition cut time being way to long. It's so long that it causes the bike to almost buck I was told it looks like I missed a gear from behind.

Has anyone experienced this or found a way to smooth out the DQS. I know ignition cut time is software/tuning but if there is something mechanical to assist please do tell.

ALSO
I'm not having the jerking/DANGEROUS DQS issue. The issue is purely with the DQS ignition cut timeframe being to long, pretty much causing a lag in between gears.

If you're running it in competition then I would recommend a competition set up. The DQS it rolls out of the factory with is for the masses. It's 'nice' for the road, but when you're pushing it i don't think it's the best.

yeah mine does this to, almost as if im hitting the rev limiter. It is worse in 2nd, 3rd and 4th and also happens when im pushing on that little bit more in spirited riding. I thought I wasn't being strong enough with my foot, but its definitely not that.

I have found that a tire calibration resolves most all of my DQS issues after re gearing or tire changes on both my v4 and v4s

Any recommendations based on setup you mentioned (part name/site)??

Tire calibration happens with in the first 5 secs of rolling after engine start with oem equipment so, how would that help unless I changed tires or gearing?

Exactly I did the same I was jamming gears thinking it would help nope the ignition cut lasted longer.
Then I tried to be softer, nope now I'm missing gears and hitting false neutrals.
I just want it as smooth as my BMW s1000rr. .

Is the QS on the V4 the same foul mess that came on the 99s or did Ducati actually manage to come out with an updated version that’s just as awkward?

I had one of the first TL QS built for the 1299. While it was a bit more stable in terms of shift integrity, it like the stock unit is still a push/pull microswitch. I have now had several of these units and gave one to Mick1976 to try. All of the units over time have lost some structural integrity in the assembly and become a bit sloppy. If you want a true strain gauge solution that is plug and play, rock solid and provides programmable shift points contact Woolich Racing.

Yep same problem here from day 1. I have been telling the dealer the cut time is too long and they tested and said nothing wrong and I eventually convinced them to replace the QS and it was better for a bit and now it's .... again. My bike is going in for a whole lot of recalls and they are putting another QS on as apparently there is a new revised part number that just came out. Fingers crossed it fixes it and it becomes like the Aprilia one that was amazingly smooth but snappy like they should be

PLEASE let us know how it turns out, because I just had all my recall work done last Friday and when I brought this subject up I was told there was no adjustment to it. If you can get the part number that would be greatly appreciated.

My bike is still at the dealer waiting on parts. It's been over 3 weeks and I'm far from impressed hope to have it back next week and will update once I get to ride it

The entire gear selector assembly on these bikes is a giant pile of gorilla ..... Take the stock QS and throw it in the trash. Get the TL unit and a simple set of rear sets that do not have a bunch of goofy mechanical linkage pieces to further complicate the already very sloppy linkage. Attack has rear sets for the V4 now as does Lightech that have precision bearing construction and a direct link design. That will get you in the ballpark. If you need adjustability in the architecture, it's going to cost more money.

I put a TL unit on my 1299S and it's still the same issues as the stock unit. 4-5-6 at speed on a race track is just dangerous! You almost get launched into the screen the deceleration is so severe!

Was speaking to a guy recently who has had multiple QS units on his V4 under warranty without success.
Eventually they changed out gear position sensor and his problems disappeared.
His dealer said that they can be problematic in individual gears etc without totally failing.
Don't know how factual this is, but it may be worth a look.

Convincing my dealer to do it under warranty may prove difficult.
