this guy is a washed up fraud everybody goes through the same thing. First its the ducati, now its the qualifying system. Here is a thought maybe its you.

That is not to everyone’s taste. “This type of practice, with 15 minutes, is not very fair,” was Valentino Rossi’s opinion, after the Italian had once again failed to break into the first two rows of the grid.
“A lot of riders are able to take the right slipstream and improve a lot the lap time and also the position they usually have in practice. So is not just about the potential but also about being in the right place at the right moment and make a good lap with the guy in front.” Qualifying has been Rossi’s Achilles heel ever since the introduction of the new system, which coincided with his return to Yamaha.

Rossi is alone in his criticism, however. Everyone else is fairly happy with the way qualifying works. “For me, honestly, I like this system,” Marc Marquez told reporters. Alvaro Bautista concurred. “I prefer this system, you are more focused on making a good lap time, because in the end, it’s just for qualifying.”
DONT COMMENT ON THE RACE ITSELF I DIDNT SAY NO SPOILER.

it entertains me to read the pathetic boyhood idle responses from the rossi drones that just dont see it. most of the time its killing time. football is preseason, yankees won who cares about dodgers red sox, walking dead still not on, saw the race already and walked my dog

I'll bite. Yes Rossi sucks at qualifying. They all have strengths and weaknesses. To his credit he also complemented the others on being insanely fast (trying not to spoil). Is his era over? Yeah, pretty much. Does this detract from his lifetime of achievement? No.

it entertains ME even more at how you tend to go into attack dog mode anytime anyone says anything good about rossi. At some point you just have to get over it and stop trying to slam everyone that says a good thing about Rossi as being fanboys (or hear you said pathetic boyhood idol responses) etc.Time will tell if Marquez is the second coming of the christ (I know you believe with all your heart he is) but let's see five years from now? Another legend or just another guy who had lots of potential. That said, I think he's a phenomenal racer with loads of potential. But Rossi, in spite of everything you try to say is still a great racer, and sure his best years are behind him but look at the overall record.

I seem to recall another one of your idols who did nothing but whine and blame everyone else when things didnt go his way, that'd be Stoner.

Me I don't take any of this stuff too seriously and I might watch two motogp races a year......I'd rather ride.

Agreed! And everybody out of NY can spell "IDOL"

Rossi never been good at Qualifying. Look at his wins vs qualifying stats. Others like Lorenzo and Pedrosa is almost even but Rossi is significantly different.

Did you gather "pathetic boyhood idle...and Rossi drones" assumptions from my comment on your devotion to hating someone?

No that wasn't for you. Those are very general comments for the few people that no matter what happens will say he can do no wrong and is STILL the best rider out there. I am sure there are still some claiming he will win the championship.
If you don't fall into the boyhood idol (used correctly now) drone category then it surely wasn't for you.
All in good fun

I have no dog in this fight, but:

Zvez. Now I agree with you on the riding part I disagree with not watching the races. Fan or no fan of MM you are watching a phenom. Like watching ken Griffey jr or Michael Jordan (I didn't say mantle or dr j cause they were before my time). Dvr the race watch it at a down time it's only an hour and IMO very entertaining.

Fair enough! I agree on your opinion of MM. Amazing talent.

Also i will never take away the mans accomplishments. he is a 7 time motogp champ 9 times if you add the other classes. now i believe it has part to do with the best teams the most money and a marginal field of racers but he still had to go out and win the races which he did. Not to mention the fact that there isnt a single person who has done more for motogp than good old 46 and i am pretty sure that MM and the younger crop of riders have learned a lot by watching emulating and studying his style.

sure does bring a lot of site traffic to the forum when i post anti rossi stuff also. hmmmm

The slipstream issue is a legitimate concern when it comes to qualifying times but I don't believe it is as big of an issue as Rossi is insinuating.

Like Cal said in the post qualifying press conference, the most fair arrangement would probably be to give every rider only one lap alone on the track, although I sincerely doubt many riders would prefer that since it would reduce their chances of posting their best possible qualifying time. Then again, as Mr. Crutchlow also alluded, there can’t be much of an unfair advantage in riding the slipstream because he ran his time alone and did quite well. I’m thinking this has more of an impact on the second tier class of racers that Rossi is now finding himself a member of. At 34, what Rossi is doing is still extremely impressive, but it’s clear he is longer upper echelon.

I think crutchlow hates riders that ride behind others to get a good time. (Particularly riding behind one of the aliens). I believe Bautista does this quite a bit because several seemed to have complained of him doing this.

bautista said that he owes MM dinner for his qualifying time.
