Posted today on Ducati North America's Facebook page. My sales guy said he would be going to this beginning the 16th so hopefully this is a good sign that they are on schedule to get bikes in dealers as scheduled by the end of this month.

Breaking in the 1199 for the Dealer Academy.

SoonerNation,

Sooner Grad of 2000 here. Which dealer are you using? AMS? Marty? I am the first on the list to get the S model from AMS as I dropped my deposit back in June. Marty said it would be here at the end of the month. Unfortunately, I am back overseas and will not see my bike until August or so. That means it will be up for grabs to the next person as I will have one set aside before I get back.

AMS is having their Ducati Panigale launch party to coincide with their 10 year anniversary on April 27th. You should get out there if you can...should be pretty cool and they will have bikes on display.

Yep, Marty at AMS. He told me that they moved the launch to the 28th so it would be on a Sat. to allow for more people to attend.

I was late to the party on the 1199 so I am 35 or 36 on the list with a S w/ABS. He said most of the orders were for Tri's though. I plan on calling him tomorrow to get the breakdown on which bikes are on order so I can get some idea on when I can expect delivery. The wait is killing me. Especially seeing the guys on this forum that have already taken delivery.

That's a bummer about being overseas. Military?

So many bikes that could be in showrooms!

Is it the same batch from Yas Marina?

Uhhhh... not sure where you're getting your information from, but that's not correct.

what do you mean? I know for certain that at least 2 were totalled...my guys witnessed it.

Plus there are youtube vids on this forum of a rider going down on one so....

One was laid down on Sunday before the event began, when we were doing the break-in miles on the bikes.... as far as I know it was a clipon, rearset and some rashed bodywork.... but was not totaled.

The other was on Monday.... didn't get a good look at the bike, so I can't say as to the extent, but from 10' away on a trailer it didn't look that bad.

That was it. I was there the entire time and would have known if any other bikes went down. All in all, it was a good time and I think everyone who rode the bike got to get a sense of what it's all about, which is that it is simply AMAZING! There were a lot of smiles, that's for sure.

The way you said it sounded like NOTHING happened which clearly something did happen. And it was 3rd hand information.....3 vs 2, point is must be nice to throw someone else's bike down the track with no tears cried.

No worries - I just wanted to set the record straight, since I was actually there. Yes, the video posted is of the Monday session and that was the dealer person throwing that bike down. I do believe that dealer now owns that bike! ;)

We tried to make sure everyone got to ride the bike as fast as they want, but maintain safety and control. Considering across all the bikes we did in the area of 15,000 track miles, having two light crashes is pretty good. In theory you want to have zero crashes of course....

Yeah it's rare to hear of zero crashes at a track day; it happens. Just sad to see beautiful Ducs going down, especially since I wasn't there to try it myself :D .
