Ducati Demo Days? WTH?

I would be more concerned with another angle of the dealer...Like Jarelj said, its up to the dealer if they want to take the risk. But then it brings me to my point, what kind of dealer is this? You have to concern yourself also with the potential indicator that he is a poor businessman. Who doesnt want to grow a business. Who lets customers walk away? If he is not understanding of how to own and grow a business, and what risks to absorb, he may not be there in a year to work on your bike he sold you. I always wonder how business owners let customers walk away, or get pissed off with things that are totally in their control, or hire idiots that drop the ball constantly.

Just another thought. But no matter what, find a new dealer. I was just at an Aprillia dealer the other day and he offered several times to let me test ride their 2017 RSV4 Factory. Thats a 26k bike they have for test rides ! My Ducati dealer will let you take out a Panigale and Diavel anytime you want.

Kinda my same issue, I have never got to ride before I buy (except when I got bored and test rode a grip of Harley's at a dealer provided ride event). But, I am on the fence of the 1299 & rsv. I love both.. but Only have to capital for one.. Household 6 (aka the wife, the 'true' commander of the house ;0 lol) put her foot down and said I only can get one or the other.. This makes a demo ride pretty much the tipping point for me.. (see my new thread I posted / I am new to this group and group forums as whole.. never been my 'go-to' source. So this is truly a first for a lot of things .

But I could see asking for a deposit / doing paperwork so you wreck it you bought it. Besides let's be real, who's going to test ride their dream bike and NOT push it. So I understand the receipt for disaster.

One dealer I when to "doesnt do test rides on ducati" unless it was a scambler or diavel (hipster much)

When to another dealer to test ride and they had a 1199 base (at the time) which the only catch was they would ride with me and on a set route.
Felt pretty strange at first but he didnt seem to mind me opening it up at a few points.

on return i ask about why they come on rides. The dealer in 3 months had written off 3x 1290 super dukes (one ended in fatal) one ride off (diavel) and one test rider got a S1000R impounded by police due to speeding.


Least the dealer acknowledge your existence when you entered store....

There is a Ducati Demo event going on this coming weekend July 21 & 22 in Chattanooga Tn, if anyone is near and wants to go. It will be a Pandora European Motorsports.

Do you know if they will have a 1299 base / S there for demo? The Demo truck event in Birmingham (Aug 4, 5, 6) I was told that they will only have the 959 available. If so, I might make the journey up from Huntsville because I really think I need some seat time to finally put to rest my internal struggle of rsv or pani once and for all.
