i got one last month and I love it but i've always been an Arai fan.:)

I'm a Shoei guy, but I am going to go try one of these on if I can find one and might give it a go. I was set on an AGV, but am second guessing that now.

EDIT: Which model Arai is this? I won't be able to find the Ducati version locally so will have to try on a regular one and then order it if I like it.

I like Shoei ever since my GRV days but this latest rf1100 I hate. only had it for a year and the pads wont stay in and Shoei letters coming off. I like my Scorpion better than that RF1100. very dissapointed

im fighting getting a scorpion. for whatever reason i want one. i think the gimmicks hooked me. inflatable cheek pads . military style drop down dark screen. pretty cool graphics anti fog shield (everyone says that and they all fog). The reason i didnt get a scorpion is simple its on sale for 299. but its like a 400 helmet i got the bell star carbon which was a 700 helmet for 329. i have 3 helmets 1 head so i am fighting getting another one.

thanks mudman i mean the bells and the suomy i have are really light i dont want a heavy helmet. things i will not look into for a while 1 exhaust. i dont care if you add 3 more hp or whatever i got termi i am living with it. 2 helmets have 3 but looking at cool graphics will make me get another.

Yes it is indeed.

The manufacturer can not put the custom logo (as advertised) on the back of the it for $65 bucks due to USA DOT regulations. In essence you can not have a logo on the back that is over the USA DOT label. This of cause means that I can and will have a skillful artist put a logo on it - especially for track use and above the DOT label for road use. It is what it is, the helmet still looks the same as in the picture I posted.

I believe it is the helmet that some professional GP riders wear and it is the only pure carbon helmet out there other than the stock Arai Carbon helmet (source: Revzilla review, Ducati and Arai). There are not many of them available and I have been advised that the ones that have been produced are also used by folks intending to participate in the Isle of Man TT.

I should have it shortly and as I said if folks are interested in pictures and a review then I will share.

Hope you never have to put it to the test! Forget about the hospital bills! Id ride and leave it in a glass case at home.

For pure Ducati Helmets only ..

I have the Ducati AGV Dark Rider helmet along with the Ducati TWINNS Bluetooth Intercom headset. I really like the built in visor and design of this helmet.

I recently ordered the cash up front, no-return Arai Ducati Corse RXV Carbon Helmet. It has a 2 month lead time and due to DOT regulations in the USA I am not permitted to have the custom names, logo, etc put on the back. This will be my first Arai and based on what I heard it should be a very good helmet.

Nice one. I actually looked at Arai corsair V carbon and it's sweet. You will enjoy the Arai Cosair V (Arai Ducati Corse RXV Carbon) . I only use my Cosair V on the track because I dont want it to get dinged around. It has great air flow, very stable at high speeds and while doing head checks I don't find myself fighting the wind. I have the NEXX XR1R Carbon very good and light that I ride in the streets but I find myself grabbing my Cosair V more often now. I just might have to by another Cosair V.

Capt ordered a CF shield - I told him he won't be able to see through, but at least it's matte.

Vision limits my natural skills. Kinda like Luke practicing with the lightsaber. I can shave seconds off lap times if I block out distractions and just rely on the force.

According to WSBK regs, gloss shields are illegal, their reflection distracts other riders and causes accidents.

I think common sense and good taste pretty much makes gloss carbon fiber illegal on anything other than that CBR with the tribal graphics.

I don't know, these glossy CF coffee mug holders look nice and I'm sure are available at Starbucks.

I just got this Arai, seems light and the price is reasonable for an Aria (about $600)
