Looks like a V2 Corse spec but limited. $4500 over base for NIX30 carts and TTX36, lithium battery, and monoposto rear subframe.

Saw this - are they going to make a Corse edition too? Would be nice to have Marchesini gold rims too.
I was surprised how light the V2 wheels are. I believe someone on this forum weighed a set and they were equivalent to the weight of OZ GASS-R wheels. What’s the difference between TTX36 and TTXGP?

Finally it's released! I've been waiting and waiting for a special edition to come out right from the original V2 release.Looks gorgeous. Not going to be able to sleep tonight!Going to have to sell my current panigale to help fund it.

Some will be enraged and unable to sleep tonight that they made another special edition. I think it looks nice, but overall unexciting. More power to those that decide to get one.

Beautiful Bike. Price not so much. Should have spec'd electronic suspension. And doing numbered bikes WITHOUT a set number is a joke. It's a parts bin bike IMHO. Nobody will track that bike. Or very few peeps. So to spec a upgraded manual suspension is a joke.

Ducati parts bin specials, marketing is running out of ideas.....The bike looks very ordinary compared to the 1098 (1198) Bayliss. They could/should have gone to the SL parts bin for a bit of special bling.

There is nothing on that bike that gets me interested, how baddass would it have been to throw a 1299 donk in there!

Oooo V2 SL would be pretty dope.
  • Carbon bodywork with wings
  • Carbon wheels
  • Lightened flywheel
  • Dry clutch
  • Aluminum tank
If they really wanted to get crazy, convert the rear subframe/rear half of the tank into a fuel tank (like the KTM RC8) and make the front half of the tank a huge airbox. Then throw on a Pierobon extended swingarm for fun.

Wow great idea, a Two cylinder SL. You would think they would have done something like that already.

More bait for the fan boy club nice I see the saga continues at the factory let's see we continue to have excess inventory of garbage parts let's put it to use.

Fer cryin out loud! If YOU don’t like it or YOU don’t think it’s “worth” it .... don’t buy one. Otherwise, your opinion is of little value.

Worth it??? What are you building or riding? Guessing a V4? So yeah my opinion probably is far from yours and I don't buy anything off the show room floor. My builds and inventory of parts are not offered from the Ducati parts catalog.

The manual suspension is leaps and bounds better than any electronic suspension available. Do you see any race team running an electronic suspension set up?

Active suspensions are banned in WSBK and current MotoGP bikes have semi-active suspensions with the hole-shot devices and anti-squat devices pioneered by Ducati. So I would beg to differ on a manual suspension being better than active. You don’t see it because it is expensive and banned in a lot of Motorsports.

First off, this whole suspension debacle has been beaten to death in so many threads, I lost count. Any decent suspension pieces will out ride 95% of the riders who buy sport bikes. Just let it go.

As far as the bike goes, Ducati has turned these collectible “special editions” into “Beanie Babies” for grown men. This Bayliss Buffoonery is the latest and the most insulting to date. You would have thought the Bologna bamboozlers would have at least given Bayliss a comparable platform to the 916 bike but no, he gets an entry level “parts bin” special that’s sub-par to a bike they put out 9 years ago.

They should have just continued to build the 1299 if they were serious about offering a twin in the lineup. The current V2 platform is like buying a 2 series BMW.

yes expensive and competing in MOTOGP don't coincide, saving a few grand is always in the best interest to winning world titles. Hands down the suspension under the bikes is far superior to anything you will ever see in a electronically controlled set up. Thus anything electric is inferior to what is offered on the market for traditional suspension... especially when talking about retail bikes.

Years and years of notes taken on manual suspension for each track, rider, weather conditions. Far too many variables for an electronic suspension to be as or more effective than the manual setups. There's just not enough data on electronic setups for any team to even consider an electronic setup even if it wasn't banned in pro racing. The only way to level the playing field would be to force every team to be on an electronic setup so the learning curve is as close to being the same as possible across the board.
