Ducati makes limited V2 Corse (aka Bayliss tribute)

Not the point if they are covered under warranty. This stuff just shouldn’t happen on a new bike period.
Of course you don’t hear about issues when they are not issues. What is your point or are you just going to sit here and defend your beloved Ducati for not knowing how to design simple hydraulics or prevent bikes from stalling ?

I mean I’ll deal with the issues but I’ll still ..... about it lol
I’m not here to defend anything… if Ducati made a wrong, they should make it right. That’s all. My point is that we should be thinking critically and logically about things instead of prattleling

I go over any new bike and check fastener tightness. Found some cringe worthy stuff over the years. Had a older S1000RR that dealer didn’t even check tire pressure on - was at 18psi rear

If the wrongs were not systemic I would agree, however, clutch hydraulics have been issues on these bikes for many years and Ducati apparently has chosen to not address it. The solution should not be to purchase aftermarket parts, which is the only solution right now.

Are the wrongs systemic though? Again, with a critical component that's used on various models you'd think a recall would be in order if there were rampant systemic problems.

I don’t have the exact statistics to call it systemic but I know enough owners of Ducati’s with the same issue that I have. If I use that sample size yes it’s significant and systemic. Unfortunately I don’t have ducatis service data to know what the larger sample size looks like.

I'm not saying the bike does not have a sweet suspension set up. Take a deep breath and read my entire post.
What I'm saying is very few people will track that bike. So a manual suspension where YOU are tweeking it. Shows little value to the public/average buyer. I do understand doing the TWIN in honor of Bayliss. I think the paint is awesome! My point was throw an electronic suspension on it to attract more street riders, aka possible V4s riders/buyers. The price to me does not make it appealing with a manual set up. And last time i checked this is a discussion board.
It's a beautiful bike. To me it could have been better.
The "Numbered" bikes are a joke! If they get 5000 orders. What good is say 2851 out of 5000?

I’ve had BMW’s for years with electronic suspension - great in a road bike, but still not as dialed in as a good set of Ohlins set up properly, even on the models like the R/RR where you still set a baseline sag. I have no experience with the Ohlins electronic but they seem to add about $6K between a straight V4 and the S. I think electronic Ohlins with the other bling on a V2 would have driven the price north of a base V4 so I think it was probably a smart move from a marketing perspective. My experience even when on the street properly set up Ohlins are sublime even if underutilized. I keep a log for what I like in various settings. For those that don’t adjust and set up suspension the loss is theirs.

To be fair part of that reason may be that its not a problem for most people, I have had to bleed the clutch from time to time but its much improved with high quality fluid. The clutch fluid goes dark very quickly so possibly degrades fast due to heat and requires regular changing. The other point is that with DQS up and down the clutch is only used for starting and low speed turns so engagement is not that important compared to the slipper function which seems to be pretty good.

I bleed my hydraulics every track weekend, which is often enough to where my fluid never gets worn, I use high boiling point race fluid.

I agree it's often enough to considered substandard on a premium motorcycle, mine seems to have settled down to a bleed occasionally but its winter here so not much riding.

Has anyone heard from sources how many total of these are going to be made? Real limited edition or the defacto V2S, with a upspec paint job?

I was informed by the New Zealand Ducati sales rep that the Ducati V2 Bayliss 'allocation' is now sold out and no further orders could be made.
Not sure if that is a regional allocation or the global sales.

they mean sold out for this current year right??? Meaning more to come next year? Its not a limited edition-its a numbered edition so I was planning they will make as many as they can sell. I was planning on ordering next season. Have I lost out?

Maybe wait to late November 2021 and see if they release a Ducati Panigale V2 Corse and see if you like that over the Bayliss.
