So I bought it and it took 15 mins at the dealer which works out to be $30 a minute. I expected it to say EVO or some .... when I turned the key but nothing. I am tracking in 2 days, last one before surgery. I will give my thoughts on it after words.

I hope it was t just a $500 placebo.

I remember how I really wanted it when it was coming out, but $500 for 15 minutes is just crazy! No EVO on the dash either. I'd be like you, I'd have to know I'm going to the track to even consider it at that price.

How do you even know it's there if it does not say EVO?

Well here's my impressions....

I was running OEM Pirelli SPs. Race mode, DTC3 ECB2 DWC3 ABS1

My first feeling it was the way my rear wheel drifted in a 90 degree corner. It felt natural...not a rough hook up, continuous and smooth.

second place I saw it was driving up hills on the top of the tire.. Even with DWC 3, the front leaves the ground, (probably a 1/2" due to the CF wheels), so then the DTC light goes off, which means to me that the DTC was working with the DWC. This happened serval times, so I either am spinning up the rear on the top of the tire, (which I couldn't really feel) or the system works together more completely. Also, both the QS and the auto Blipper work better...I get pops on up shift from time to time if opening throttle while shifting, The auto Blipper seems to add a few more RPM to keep it smooth and seamless.

There is definitely a difference. I will need more track time and to set my bike up a bit better but it will all have to wait till after I get healed up, I get my shoulder scoped on Monday.

Do I think it is worth it? For me yes.. It felt different enough, ( in a better way) for me to be satisfied.

Got it installed recently and will keep you guys updated with my impressions once the riding season starts here-the winter is coming :)

How much?

I paid $565 + labor for mine. Unfortunately, I never really got to a point where I noticed a distinct difference - I didn't get much riding done afterward. Won't be able to comment in the future as I traded in the 1299S for an R.

Thought I would re-awake this old thread. I just bought the EVO DTC upgrade and noticed a difference on the bike. Front tire now just hovers above the ground at a 1/2 inch were before it would ride up to about a foot off the ground and I would need to modulate the throttle to control loft. Now I can just hammer it out of turns and the bike is much more controllable and stable. Rear wheel spins up nicely on DTC setting 2. I have not tried 1. For those asking about the after install. Your dealer should provide you with a sheet showing the update to your vin along with download time.

Good to know.
Have it done recently but did not have a chance to ride my bike with EVO DTC yet. Is there any improvement when it comes to power delivery? Is there any information on dashboard confirming that upgrade to DTC EVO was conducted successfully?

As far as anything on the bike to confirm install. No. However if you have the EVO upmap key done on your bike. That still shows up on start up. My dealer gave me a print out of the upgrade performed on my bike it shows all the info you need to confirm the software has been added. This can also confirms the install during selling time. Also if the new customer wants to confirm the install he can take the bike to any Ducati dealer and confirm the install. Just as an FYI. The dealer needs your VIN number to order the software and it is only good for your VIN when it is being downloaded from Ducati Italy.

As far as how power is delivered. Yes to me, BIG difference. But I am very sensitive to any changes on my bike. The power comes on in a much more liner way now. And what I mean by this is. When exiting a turn the bike is much more controllable. I can't say many are going to ride this bike in a manner to truly feel this difference. But to a person with a lot of track time and has the confidence to come on the power hard out of a turn while leaned over. Yeah you will notice a big difference in power delivery. The other difference is mid turn confidence. I can apply power now and not feel like the bike is taking a pause during the time I want power. This is one of the more welcome changes I liked.

Also as of note. You can leave DTC on 3 and it will still have an effect on the DWC. The wheelie control is much better as well. However if you are into showboating this my not be the upgrade for you. As DTC3 no longer allows you to loft the front wheel like before you will need to run in DWC 2 or 1. But then you will need some throttle control because these settings are not ..... proof.

My settings that I am enjoying at the moment are 2232 or 2222.

Thanks a lot for this.
Can't wait to have my bike back from dealer.
