Yes, what ducatikev said, and the product starts at 38 dollars excluding shipment. I offer a way economical solution. Cheers

Oh, I like to print mine in carbon fiber here in the states so I was just curious.

Well done. Wish you accomplished this 4 months ago when I paid around $40 for mine. They were part of a larger purchase. Motomillions wouldn’t honor my military discount. Manny kept giving me ways to “apply” for it, and then the run around, but ultimately refused to honor it.

While I do agree that 38 bucks seem like alot, as an Engineer, I know it that it takes someones time to engineer, design, create the product. There is also testing and most importantly the innovative idea that the person came up with. The CAD/CAM design and then actually to produce the parts. The person deserves to be paid for all that. I know we say; "38 bucks for two small plastic pieces and a tri-bit! This is less than 5 bucks in parts". We have to remember everything that went into it.

i am a product engineer myself i do know a few things about engineering and cad software, production and the finance. You are partly right

I don't want to start an argument and I don't take anything personally on the 'net, just curious what you think I was wrong about? I'm always open to listening to people's thoughts...

HI bart,

It was not my intention to come over like a smart ass/know it al so sorry for that! Lets brake down the 38 bucks without shipment. Lets say you need a 3D cad program to sketch out the part. Lets grab solidworks for example. About 10k a year. Im sure there are other plans and a lot of free software to draw out this “simple shape”. But lets grab that 10k and / it by 12 for a development time of 1 month. Under 1k for development. Tooling for a part like this wont ever be much more than 1k. So for lets say 2k you got all the development and tooling. Maybe some logistic costs but thats it. He had to sell about lets say 70 of them to get his investment back. the cost of this part “in bulk and produced by mark my words injection molding” wont by higher than 5cents.

Hope this sketches out some perspective!

cheers!

So ignorant

Ok go out to ur bike and grab the throttle with ur index finger and thumb and rattle it around.
These “spacers” go around one part inside the throttle control so it’s snug. If urs rattles and has free play then you need to install these.
You’ll need a triwing bit to access these components and make the upgrade which is why our buddy Kevin from DucatiSpacers sells the kit for whatever he sells it for. And believe me ppl are buying them. I have a set on my 1299 and it’s a “must have” now that I do

if your throttle is tight then they’re already installed by the previous owner

It’s the same part on all Ducati models. They should have shipped the bikes like this in the first place. They shoulda done a lot in the first place.
Do u know how much easier it would be to corner with a perfect throttle?

what bike are u riding?

Thanks for explaining DucatiKev! I just got my first Ducati yesterday, 1199s and that was the first thing I noticed and immediately wanted to fix. I joined this forum recently to start leaning about common issues, etc about these bikes before I bought one. I’ll definitely be buying some spacers! How many are needed? Thanks for your help!

absolutely! U picked up a legendary motorcycle.
I would recommend spacers and an ECU tune, it takes out all jerkeyness but somehow gives the bike even more character.
I did BrennTuning on my 1299 and it’s great, but now I’m in Florida and @vcyclenut is an hour away and I think I’m exclusively recommending him now for the ECU tunes cause he’s an expert and a cool guy in general. He’s coming up on 5,000 Ducati ECUs flashed. Although I’m sure there are other great tuning options out there

hit him up or hit @cycler up for an exhaust and tune. He takes good care of the forum members

Got my spacers from the Netherlands yesterday, thanks Virgil!

@drift that throttle tube looks sweet,
I’m gonna pick on up too. Thanks!

worthwhile ...... for me its all about confidence on a bike specifically (chains, tires, brakes, any mods) and I wasn't confident mentally with spacers myself ... the "sport" tube from CNC eliminates all of that non sense. They are usually only available in the EU and shipping was like $25 plus the tube $30 .... but Ducati Omaha had it for $31. Sold me. 220HP on my race bike not messing about with spacers.

I’m in keep us posted

Cool, lmk. We can get a purchasing portal setup.
We celebrate all Ducati owners here, that’s y it’s called the DUCATIForum, don’t tell the guys on the PanigaleForum tho, they’ll ban u

you do wheelies like a hooligan on that thing?
