Ducati V4 Speciale or wait?

That is not just cheaper, that is suspiciously cheap. Positive it's not the slip on?
If it does turn out to be true - nice for you guys!
Slip on is just over $4k Cdn... Forgot the exact amount as I'm only looking to buy the full system.

A couple of dealers in the UK have been advised by Ducati not to place any further orders for the Speciale (beyond those already allocated to them) as the entire production run has sold out. If true, I'll bet a few will surface post sale for a much elevated asking price. Bet Ducati wish they'd set the 1500 limitation a little higher.

Agree with short term values. Doubt long term values will hold though. In a year or 2 there will be another vastly improved bike, like the 1299 was, and the old Speciale will be devaluing hard.
Just saying. It's not a investment either way in the long run.

where did you see this price? I have been checking ducati canada website it has not even been updated with the new models yet.

I have ordered the v4s but eager to know the price of the exhaust, i had called 2 dealers around town last week and they did not have any info on it.

Ducati performance accessories in canada just got loaded into the dealer systems today. Full exhaust here is $5690 Cdn retail. Cheaper than the states when taking into the conversion rate. Better than expected!

Where in Canada are you located? Try calling the dealers again. It just got loaded into their internal system yesterday morning. I'm heading to my dealer now to order parts for my v4s.

Slip on is $4400 Cdn. Just checked today.

My order is in for:

- Akra full exhaust
- DP windscreen
- DP lever guard
- DP grips
- DP rear carbon mudguard (note: suggested with full akra exhaust from dealer system for some reason)
- DP Carbon tank cover
- DP rearsets
- DP tank guard
- Ducati rear stand
- Ducati motorcycle cover

All came out to $10,001.00 Canadian dollars MSRP. So just under $8k USD. Not sure how that compares to the states.

thats a long expensive list mate, 35k for the v4s plus 10k accessories. you are a brave man. I shall go for the akra unsure of full or slip.

Slip on is 4400. Full is only 1290 more at 5690. Hard to pass on the full at this difference. My theory is that the slip on (and full) are priced so high due to the belly pan. But the dealer order system doesn't indicate whether it comes with a belly pan or not. Just my guess.

Still 10k cheaper than the speciale due to the magnesium wheels. If I really want magnesium I'll just swap it on from my 1199R. Lol.

Now all I need are some TWM levers and a clean fender eliminator and I'm good to go.

Thanks. Just picked up the e63s today but bought that for the wife so she'll let me buy the v4 lol.

Keeping the 1199R as I've put in too much money that I'll never get back. Plus I love this bike and it's still mint.

I love the E63S. I do some work in Formula One (I'm in Abu Dhabi right now, actually) and spend some time with the C63S we have here as the medical car and I love it. The AMG guys are trying to get me to sell one of my Ferraris to make room for the AMG GT-R but I can't do that. I would like to make that wagon my daily driver, though. I love it.

Don't mean to take away from the original thread but wow! I'd love to go to F1 Abu Dhabi... what a beautiful track! Wish I could do some work in Formula One!

I test drove the AMG GTS and while it's an amazing drive, it doesn't shake my soul like the Ferrari's. They're worth a try for sure, but not at the expense of getting rid of a Ferrari. I've only ever owned 1 Ferrari and it was an 08 F430 6MT. Selling that was the worst thing I've ever done (among others like not buying an SLS for $130k Cdn or a 996 Turbo for $85k Cdn). I'll definitely get back in one sooner or later though. Hopefully a V12 when my kidneys go up in value.

PS. Your bike collection is amazing! With exquisite taste like that I can't imagine your car collection!

Ha. Thanks. The car collection sort of follows the same tastes for sure. But you owned a great ferrari so you know how special one of these cars is.

This Abu Dhabi circuit is insane. It’s my first time here and everything is so nice. I go to a lot of the races but I don’t go to all as Formula One is just one of my clients and the others have needs I have to see to as well. However,I love the work I do for them and I love being here. It’s great.

That's awesome my man! So happy for you seeing that you work hard and are able to enjoy life along the way!

I went into that Ferrari after owning a lamborghini superleggera... No comparison. I'll never buy another lamborghini again. I'm constantly on a hunt for a nice scuderia. I'm a sucker for the f430 body style and the analog feel.

The Scud is a really special car. I think that the 360/F430 package is one of the best that Ferrari came up with. The lightweight versions are really awesome and drive so incredibly well when properly set up.

Going back to the OP I've already said I will be waiting for the R.

However, while mulling it over and analyzing the V4 Ducati site I've noticed a box saying your opinion. Click on it and it is a questionnaire. This is largely around the looks of the bike including whether you have seen the bike in person as one of the first questions. Ducati seem clearly aware it wasn't too well received on the looks front

People aren't liking the looks? I think it looks great!

Still unsure if larger displacement trumps higher revs/faster revs if the r that likely will bve out.

Do the r models have more frequent service intervals?
