After spent all day Sunday at track... this is my feedback from Q3.

Weather 78F,
Tire psi: 28F 29R
Intermediate all morning and Expert all afternoon
-----
Notice: I have an ohlins suspension guy to set my bike for my weight and riding style.

1: I'm Not going back to the Supercosas.

2: This tire has a lot of grip in any turns...really stable...169 on the strait line and bike does not move at all. I was really impressed with it.

3: I have nothing negative to say about this tire. Amazing!

Buying another set soon. Thanks Dunlop!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm looking forward to go to the track on human temperature and give another shot. On the open roads I totally love them, the bike is so much more agile and steady when you get in the turn. I can open the throttle much earlier because the bike doesn't understear as before and the lines are more predictable.

Good stuff - matches my SC mileage.

Did you make any rear ride height changes or do anything else to the steering geometry to accommodate the Q3 on the track?

No, I had the suspension guy to set my bike for me but he had setup for the Supercorsas ( the best money I spent!)... I changed the tires and I did not notice a lot of difference... The bike still sharp.... but it can be better.

The changes that I recommended is on the TC... as the day goes I think it is a good idea to play with that...I stared with tc 3 and it is time to change.

I will be back to the track soon and probably I will have the suspension guy to make a small adjustment for me. not on the front but on the rear suspension.

Notice. The Dunlop tires has a rebate. $40 off until July 31...tomorrow. The full set will cost you around 239 - $40 ( really good deal! )

sorry to revamp this post. Did anyone raise the tail to compensate the 6 mm difference with the Pirelli?

Thanks

Good Question!

I just bought a set today. The price was hard to resist.

Will look into the rear ride height issue.

I have raised 3 mm the tail, unscrew the adjuster nut (un clockwise) by 1.2 turn. Not tested yet.

Rode on the new Q3's today. Interesting tire when compared to the OEM Pirelli Supercorsa.

I have never been a big Dunlop fan and as a matter of fact my experience with them on the Kawasaki's of the 1990's left me not particularly happy with the profile etc.

They have performed better than expected and I am surprised on many levels of how the tires have done during break in and transmitted road feel.

I must give them two thumbs up so far. Certainly a better street tire than the OEM Pirelli's

told you if you are spending more than 197 for a set (50 rebate) you are out of your mind

At 3400 miles on my oem tire, i still have plenty of meat on them. Probably last me another 2000 or so miles. I've been patiently waiting to throw these tires on the bike but i guess they'll have to wait a few more months in my shed. Already been there for over 7 months. Poor tires lol

Do you ride like a Grand Ma???:D

Shees, at 3300 miles my Pirelli's were completely shagged!

The cord was showing after last weekends ride! I had no idea till I got home.

The Dunlops look kinda cool with the sipes but I am gonna look and see what Michelin has in store next time if they are suitable for the 200 series they will need to replace.

Guess the slip-stones are an option as well?

I ride it 3-4 times a week during the week commuting to n from work. Problem is, it's only a 5 mile roundtrip on the streets lol my weekends are occupied with my 8yr old son so it's a bit challenging going on real rides/canyon runs n putting some miles on it. I just bought a new car a month ago but i have no idea why since it sits in the driveway under the tent most of the time.

I think the Q3's once again lived up the the reputation. Here they are after a full day at VIR North. I had maybe 30 miles on them before the track day. I hit upwards of 160 on them with tail sliding goodness on the braking. Burnt through a good chunk of knee puck, and also took them off road once. Never had a doubt in the tires. Posted front and rear running 32/30

" Posted front and rear running 32/30"

The pressures you quote are cold pressures??

Yes those were cold pressures. I adjusted after they warmed up, because I don't own super sweet tire warmers yet lol.

I was thinking the same...... Seems really high (rear) to me...???

I've always ran mine between 27 and 30 at the rear on the supercorsa's per track side vendor recommendations. I know the full race slicks run at lower PSI but their carcass is much stiffer than street tires.

Just put on a fresh set of Q3s and did about 150mi of "spirited" riding in the backwoods of KY. Just as they were with my previous bike: super stable, extremely grippy and no noticeable issues with the ride quality and electronics as compared to the Pirellis.

And for the price... definitely recommended.

New Q3 fitted.

Onto my 2nd rear on the Q3, last time I accidently ordered a 200/50/17. It worked ok, DTC flashed up more (even with changes) but the tyre its self was an awesome road tyre but did upset the handling ever so slightly compared to how the OEM fitted Pirelli performed. Moved to the 190/55/17, what a total different handling bike, wish I had this on the bike the first time round. Only did a quick squirt to work so far but total night and day, it pays to keep a similar profile LOL.

I will update when I get out and give it a decent ride, however I think you all know what it will be.
