Hi anyone help Dunlop don't list the sportmax 3 in the uk? different name? or USA only?

Not in the UK.

But I'm finding pressures on the Q3 @ 32f/32-34r to be good.

Same. Same. In the USA but 32/34 run very well for me. Lots of feel and decent compliance. Not as compliant as a Bridgestone S20 over rough/bumpy pavement but excellent with very neutral steering.

I was at Jennings ( A motorcycle only track in Ga. For those who do not know) and had just put on a a brand new of Q3's on about the 3rd session on turn one the rear end almost got out from under me. The rest of the lap I could feel something wrong. Pulled into hot pit, had a tire guy take a look then told me to go on in. Started looking at it and there was a complete razor sharp line from one side to the other. I am familiar with cold cracking, so that is what I assumed it was. I took the tire to a dealer, my dealer, and they told me to contact Dunlop, did not even offer to replace tire. I still have the tire but just switched over to Pirelli. Haven't looked back. I was at Carolina Motorsports Park with a Desmo club and was talking to another rider and he let me take a look at a Q3 with the same issue.

I am sure that at some point all tires have had a few go bad and not just knocking on the Q3, you have to be comfortable in your own mind, if the confidence is not there the tire will not be good enough. I have seen some guys on Q3's and love them and not had an issue. I loved the tire for that morning until I had an issue.

My Two cents is get the best tire you can afford and one that you feel good on and you have to trust it yourself. Pirelli, has been great to me and their customer service is awesome, Dunlop did not ruin me their representative did and to me that means a lot. But Until you feel right the tire will not feel right. It could be a $800.00 tire but if you have a bad experience you either get over it or not. If not try something else. Kind of like a relationship, everyone can give you their opinion but you have to trust and be confident in your partner ( he or she ) or the ride will always suck. To someone else it may be top notch but you make the call. I can assure you everyone has had a good and bad ride.

Wise advice.
I saved a few hundred bucks on tyres once by getting one model less (wanted supercorsa pro, bought Rosso).
It ended up costing me an arm and a leg. Literally.
Lucky the government gave me free titanium inserts.

Don't be like me.

Q3 190 is not the same size as pirelli 200 look at spec sheet and it does affect TC people are dumb

effects it very low just a notch up if you are worried about that

the q3 are .5mm wider than the pirelli.

How did the Rosso Corsa's end up being such a horrible purchase for you?

Rosso, back in 2009. Not Rosso Corsa.
Grip on the track was way below supercorsa, and it cost me an arm.
The leg is a different similar story.
No more saving on tyres now.

28 works for me here in 70-80 degree track days. I'm far from an expert rider but I know my bike doesn't feel right with me on it at 26 rear. My first track day I asked what everyone else used, then instead started with a baseline 30/30 and adjusted from there. Everyone's got a different setup and style of riding.

Uhmm. It's not too much 28 Rear track?

All I want to say on 4 pages of this is...................

PIRELLI PIRELLI PIRELLI !!!! :)

12-13/07 I'll spend 2 days at Barber Motorsport and more then likely I'll swap tires to Dunlop the 2nd day. I'll let you know what I'll find out ;-)

Dunlop Q3 installed, this coming WE they are going to be tested at Barber.

Here the Pirelli SC and Dunlop Q3 rear tire measures

The 2nd is actually wider then the 200/55

just a brief report after 2 days at Barber Motorsport, Dunlop Q3 on our bike in the track suck! The TC doesn't work properly and the pressure need to be lowered a lot if you don't want to lose the rear especially in the long turn #2. The front is awesome, better then Pirelli, a lot of confidence on it, you can push harder but the rear is slippery. I had to move DTC to 4 to avoid an high-side. One thing to keep in consideration is the temperature, yesterday we had 100/105 in the air so the tarmac was melting these poor tires.

I managed the 2nd day to lower the pressure to 22 rear and 28 front and it worked better but still throwing off my TC.

Over all these tires are great but not on our bike.

Do you think this is a fair review of a tyre sold for the street?? not as a track/race tyre??
