you guys really think the ducati give two .... about you spending money on the 1199 and they building another bike lol, I remenber when I got the 1098 and 8 months later ducati maked the 1198, please cry me a river

Just remember that WSBK goes to all EVO rules for 2015, and that will drive any future R model bikes.

Im cool thank you, but it just kill me when people think the ducati care about us when they not. they just finished sucking the blood out the rich guys with the SL now they need to find a way to suck the rest us dry, and the problem is that they will. I think ducati put crack on the clip on because their .... is like crack (I ....... like it :D).

I think the is just that the 1199 is not cooking with oil, remenber on round 2 wsbk on the last lap how honda pass ducati, that bike is so rectricted and the only chance is at the turns. I think ducati need to start making inline 4 and just be equal with the rest.

What, and then they automatically devalue the brand.

It's V4 or nothing, if they do anything.

Watch the EVO and Superstock classes, Canepa is leading the championship right now on the 1199R in the EVO class and Mercado is leading the World Superstock class. There's your preview for next year. If you think Ducati is worried about racing next year and they need to develop a new bike, that's nothing compared to what Honda, Kawasaki and Aprilia are worried about since they're not going to be able to CHEAT any longer! ;-)

I think you right about the evo class but can you elaborated more on the honda , aprilia cheating I just want to see your point of view

you be surprise the .... ducati will get away with, dry clutch,no trellis frame ,under the tail pipe and we still buy it :D, if ducati make a I4 and win some races we wont care about the twin anymore

Oh yeah I wanted to add that there will be a lot of pissed of SL owners if one year after they bought a limited edition bike that it went the way of the albatross.

The 1199 is doing too well in SSTK and the EVO classes to justify such a move. Even at the local club level it does well. I think it will be a tough sell to many involved,...especially the buying public.

Ducati or any manufacturer could give a rats .... All they care about is here and now and getting people to buy bikes. First the tricolore...then the R....then the SL....of course they will trump it again....why not as long as people will keep shelling out money?

I have not read that anywhere. I don't think Honda, Yamaha, and or anyone else will go for that. In the other manufactures eyes, Ducati already has a 200cc advantage (even though its choked to death and weighted down).

You got a link so we can read it?

Read really good article today saying that Doma FIA regulations are suffocating the 1199 potential because they force ducati to 50mm air restrictors on 67mm throttle bodies all to hold Ducati back while the 4's are unrestricted, bet if those restrictors where removed 1199 would turn the tables on the 4's in WSBK, I don't know current regs for BSB (UK SB series) but I remember how 999's did against competition with Lavia & Haslam BSB had different rules from WSBK

Not sure why people keep throwing the "restricted" thing around. They have not been restricted in WSBK since june 2013

Funny enough. I was chatting with a good guy who is in the know, and he stated that from what he knows, he is expecting an upgrade to come in 2015.

He is even selling his highly modded 1199 ready for 2015.

I Personally Suspect/Expect it to be a 1298 RR, Possibly named 1299 or 1300RR.
Which will include the, even lighter then the 1199R, SL pistons and also the SL Electronics and Possibly the full carbon Road bodykit.

And will be around £5000- £7000 more then this years 1199R.

And in typical Ducati style, as with the 1098 and Then they brought out the 100c more and limited edition 1098R(1200cc) that was sold for a Huge mark up, then to only bring out the 1198 bikes, they WILL In 2016 release 2 lower spec 1298cc panigales.

Here's one example, custom one-off frames being used, apparently for quite a few years. And when those frames trickled down to the BSB championship they were flagged as cheater frames, but weren't caught in WSBK because they didn't have an inspection regime defined well enough to catch it.
Who's cheating now? - MotoGP - Motor Sport Magazine

Also, remember back to the remarkable steamroller of an Aprilia blowing its way into the class, and then it turned out they were running a gear-driven cam setup that wasn't on the production bike? I'm not saying that Ducati has not 'cheated' at some point, at some level it's part of racing to push the envelope of the rules to try to win, but I think if you see such a huge discrepancy between results in Superstock (and now the EVO class) and the full Superbike class, it's either the rules being skewed against one manufacturer/platform OR it's cheating by some others OR both. I think Ducati can remain a force to be reckoned with in "Production" racing, with a TWIN platform, and the more the bikes have to remain close to their production counterparts the better chance Ducati has. At the same displacement, an I4 will make more HP than a twin, there's no doubt about that. But there's more to going around a race track quickly than HP alone, and Ducati has always proven that. Ducati has made a huge commitment to the twin platform, investing millions in the development of the Superquadro engine, and they've already said THIS is the platform they plan to win World Superbike championships on for the foreseeable future.

What is the problem with Ducati trying to make some money selling motorbikes? Some people here seem to think that since you just bought a 1199S, 1199R, Tricolore or SL or whatever version, Ducati should stop bringing new models to the market for X amount of years. If you just bought an R, are you pissed off because now there is SL. If you just bought SL will you be pissed off when the 1299 comes out? How many years should Ducati wait before daring to introduce a new model?

I have never understood this kind of mentality. Same with the guys who say they will not buy a bike this year because next year's model might be an upgraded version. So rather than riding a bike for a year they wait because next year's bike will have slightly different looking headlight.

It's a common theme no matter where you go... even the car guys are the same. For the most part, nobody hates a new model more than the owners of the previous model. Like you said, some people act like development is supposed to stop after they purchase a new bike. In reality, by the time a new bike hits dealers the manufacturer should already be designing/testing something better.

<sarcasm>
Wait... You mean they aren't going to stop pushing the envelope now that the SL is here? Surely the high cost of that bike includes a guarantee that it'll be the best out there for at least a few years, otherwise what are we paying all that money for?!
</sarcasm>

I think that if ducati decide to go on the V4 routed they will need to make a totally new bike, I don't see the point of adding another 100 cc this bike is already a monster. we don't need more horse power we need a better fuel map, launch control and a TC adjustable for different tire.

Changing the topic just a littler, can somebody explain me what type of rear shock this bike is using? It look like the mount it wrong, also how come that bike use a nisssin master clutch.

It's an Ohlins RSP40 shock, the kind of shock you only get if you are a factory World Superbike team, and it's mounted opposite how a stock Panigale shock is mounted, with the adjusters toward the front. I believe the clutch master cylinder is a billet Brembo unit, not a Nissin.
