Rumor started that it was only for the 'R'. But I also read that it is actually a replacement for all three.
So this is what I read:
Only a replacement for the R - 1299 Panigale R
Only a replacement for Base and S - 1299, 1299 S, 1199 R
All three - 1299, 1299 S, 1299 R
Sucks to have to wait until November to find out... lol...

Really!!?? That would suck.... having a hard time waiting until Feb.. reason for staying away from the dealer until then... because I know I would buy what it is on the showroom floor out of pure impulse... I have ordered a few CF pieces (some new, some used), a light weight battery, etc. while I wait for the day to come... May? Really!?

I know. No worries... you have no idea how many times I think about just going and getting one now... but I promised the wife that I would wait until Feb...
I just wonder what other improvements will be made to the 1299 over the previous year. If they make it a better streetable bike as well... man!...

I'm sure the marketing peeps at DMH, maybe with some Audi input, have had fun and think this will make the sales charts move in the right direction.
Personally, I see it irritating many existing 1199 owners, particularly since they are changing the model designation from 1199 to 1299, which we all know they don't always do.
- 1199 S/Base get to see the Panigale replaced by 1299
- 1199R get to see their model receive proper R treatment, but leaving it as the same model designation
- Happiest folk are the Tri owners...... unless
It's killing me having to wait to find out the details on the 1299! I'm very impatient...I know because my wife keeps reminding me.
I plan to go to show in NYC in December to see it in person, but I still want to know the details so I can wrap my mind around what I'm going to buy come spring. I was all gung-ho on the 1199 and I still am...but I need to see what this 1299 is all about first.

....1199, 1299....have fun !Kinda what I figure. Cool thing about Ducati guys from what I'm seeing on here is that there seems to be no real superiority complex just because one has a newer model.
Everyone seems to appreciate that they are all Ducati owners and it doesn't matter which model you ride so long as it's a Duc!
