Hey everyone,

I recently purchased a used 2015 Panigale R.
Ive only put about 10 miles on the bike and the !engine light came on.
Does anyone know what this could be?
The bike sounds normal and I am able to shift etc. with light on.
Bike only 2,999 miles on it.

Thank you for the help.

Best,

Nick Vanstone

Oil level low maybe? my 16 Pani R does burn a bit of oil. my guess is the 2 ring pistons might allow a bit of blow by. It has not been an issue, I just periodically check and add a bit.

Don’t think there is an oil level sensor. There is an oil pressure sensor. So if the bike is burning a bit of oil and the owner is not aware of it and enough burns off then it could cause a fluctuation in the oil pressure. Maybe enough to trip a code. It’s an easy thing to check, just look at the oil level window. While there are numerous other issues that could cause the engine light to come on, it’s probably the easiest to check and eliminate as a possible culprit. But, Don if you have some insight as to what causes his engine light to come on then I’m guessing that he would be interested in hearing it.

get a obd dongle and read the errors.
or
be just a customer and go the ducati way: ask your local dealer.
i would prefer the first, it's easy.

If it used enough oil to suck air at idle he would need to do a lot more than add oil to it

I have no idea why the light is on. Bad sensor most likely but as suggested it needs to be scanned

What’s w the QS reading ——

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I am dropping it off at Lynnwood Motoplex tomorrow so they can take a look over the weekend.
Hopefully its just a sensor and nothing major. fingers crossed.
When I first start her up DQS shows:

The check engine light only comes on after a few mins of riding.

Hey Everyone,
Just an update :)
The problem is fixed, it was the quick-shifter.

Ordered a new one from Ducati and the check engine light hasn’t came back on.
DQS shows on/off now instead -
